Doing the lawroles for me. Just tried again.
But the ASW page still shows up when I click on current students. For what it's worth I use Chrome.

Sorry about that, I just assumed it did, but when I checked my application on LSAC it didn't have any financial info. In any case, I would still say yes you can get both merit and need based aid based on what my letter stated.No13baby wrote:This may be a stupid question, but...what financial section? I just went back and looked at my transmitted LSAC app, and there's nowhere to list any financial details.foxylaxy wrote:Interesting. Mine says "Dean's Scholarships are awarded without regard to financial need. You may, in addition, qualify for need-based financial aid, and you will likely be interested in applying for loans."46nyc wrote:mattbarnes123 wrote:Does UM ever give need aid in addition to merit aid?
The letter in the mail specifically stated that due to the size of the merit award, I would not be eligible for need-based grants, but I can get need-based loans. I don't know if that's true for all sizes of the merit awards or not.
Maybe it's based off of the financial section we submitted. As a UG I only had to take out an outside loan really my freshman year, because my financial situation qualified me for plenty of need based aid.

I think everyone should check their letters when they get them. My letter really did say that based on the size of my award, I wouldn't be eligible for need-based grants, but I could apply for loans. Who knows, it might be based on small differences in the size of the award.foxylaxy wrote:

Anyway, the housing section on ASW is updated!!!

Yeah, this would be my guess. I got $18k/year - looks like that's the cutoff for being ineligible for need aid.46nyc wrote:I think everyone should check their letters when they get them. Quick question: I went complete on 11/03 or something, and sent in a late LOR on the 12th. Would that push me back later?
I would think maybe, but Michigan actually encouraged me to apply piecemeal so that they could get a jump start on my application. I'm beginning to think that this augurs poorly... (GPA ~median, LSAT >> 75%, Why Mich?, Mich specific PS)

Just received a Darrow invite via email. Super pumped!! Obviously the odds are low, but does anyone know what happens to your merit-based money if you apply and don't get it? Is it an all-or-nothing kind of deal or might you still receive a generous package even if you aren't able to attend Michigan for free??

Wow!!! Congratulations! That is amazing and I think you're the first this year. Hopefully, this means good news for others soon. I'll be paying sticker but I don't care since Michigan was my #1.amc987 wrote:Just received a Darrow invite via email. Super pumped!! Finally! After a week of knowing I was in, I was finally able to access ASW this morning.
Seeing that blue page is like the best thing ever. Even if I knew I was in, I still just wanted to get into ASW.
Fall Starter here.

All these acceptances are driving me mad. I still don't have a status checker. I know Michigan takes their time, but save a seat for me!
