Congrats to everyone! What a great early Christmas present! My application finally went under review today. Here's hoping for lots more KB1s and KB2s after Christmas!

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I just had my KB1 today. She was very nice, and I think that it went well. She laughed several times - which I take as a good sign. She made a point to let me know that admission to HLS is not only about numbers, but they also consider what someone would bring to the class in terms of experience (what I'm counting on).
It lasted 7.5 minutes.
Now I can go to sleep. I work night shift and set my alarm for 2:00 pm when I went to sleep this morning. I was so paranoid that I'd sleep through my alarms (two of them!) that I kept waking up every thirty minutes to check the clock.
Good luck to everyone.

Grats, Tom! I'm not making guarantees, but I'd be extremely surprised if you didn't get in after what she told you.

I've been trying to keep track of this and I only know of two (I'm one of them). At this point, I would say your odds are extremely good.Sh@keNb@ke wrote:Are there any KB1's that have had a significant time after their KB1 (like two weeks or more) that haven't received a KB2? Quick question: is the admissions office on break until the new year?
I had to send a contact information update to them (by mail, unfortunately as they do not accept it by email or fax).

What's the standard lag between UR and complete email? Is it odd that I haven't gone complete if I'm UR since 12/10?

This is what I asked everyone yesterday and they said you don’t go from UR to complete. WTF. Anyway, I’ve been UR since 10/13.cerealdan wrote:What's the standard lag between UR and complete email? Is it odd that I haven't gone complete if I'm UR since 12/10?

You get a complete email, but no status change. At least I didn't.AmandaPB wrote:This is what I asked everyone yesterday and they said you don’t go from UR to complete. WTF. Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
From what I can tell, there has been no one who has applied on or after 11/7 that has gotten either a KB1 or KB2 (with the exception of a few URMs and a non-traditional WE background applicant).izy223 wrote:anyone wanna give me info on when they applied and whether or not they got their interview.

...although, now that I think about it--there might have been one non-URM who did get a KB1 and KB2 despite having applied or gone UR in December.
I don't keep good track of this thread so you are all free to correct me!

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I'm hoping so. I know that their office will be open 12/22 and half-day 12/23, but I don't know of anyone with a KB1 scheduled for either of those days. This at least offers the possibility that those days will be devoted to KB2's. Wishful thinking?hihi wrote:I applied around 11/15 and had my KB1 on 12/20 (received an email scheduling it on 12/19). Hoping to hear back before Christmas...is that even possible?

Were any of you above URMs or non-traditional applicants? (Or had crazy high numbers?)

I am not URM. Somewhat interesting WE. Not crazy high numbers. Was very surprised to get a KB1 actually so I'm not sure what it all means...WhiteGuy5 wrote:Were any of you above URMs or non-traditional applicants? (Or had crazy high numbers?)

Any URM's who have already received their KB1's?
Applied in the first week of Nov., went complete first week of Dec. No KB1 yet and starting to worry

I applied at an identical period; has anyone else applied around this date and not received an e-mail pertaining to the KB1? Fingers crossed!Jerwinf1 wrote:I applied just before Thanksgiving, the 22nd I believe and went UR 12/12 - KB1 also 12/20.

I doubt we'll hear back before Christmas (I had my KB1 on 12/20 too).hihi wrote:I applied around 11/15 and had my KB1 on 12/20 (received an email scheduling it on 12/19). Hoping to hear back before Christmas...is that even possible?
According to LSN, last year the last decision date before Christmas was 12/20, and the first decision date after Christmas was 1/4 for rejections and 1/10 for acceptances.
The year before that, the decision dates were 12/21 and 1/7 (rejections) and 1/11 (acceptances).
If the same pattern continues, we won't see any movement until January... but who knows, with the JR --> KB change anything can happen (hopefully!)!

Out of curiosity, do KB1s ever get straight-up rejected? If yes, what's the earliest that it's happened? First batch?

Finally went complete! I submitted 11/22. Now to wait anxiously for the possibility of a KB1...

Thanks for the info! So maybe 1/9 for us...(though I am trying not to get my hopes up that I will ever get a KB2). Good luck!luluw wrote:I doubt we'll hear back before Christmas (I had my KB1 on 12/20 too).hihi wrote:I applied around 11/15 and had my KB1 on 12/20 (received an email scheduling it on 12/19).
