UR since 11/29/ Just noticed that I have been passed to the Faculty Committee. I really wouldn't have noticed in no one here had mentioned anything. I guess it must have happened recently though.

Committee review means Dean Tom didn't make a solid decision and you're being bundled up with other "competitive" applicants that are not auto-admits or auto-rejects.

This could be good or bad, but it seems that Dean Tom admits some students based off an "administrative" review, rejects the obvious reject candidates, then sends the rest of the applicants to committee

I was wondering whether the dates on which they begin deliberation and on which decisions will be reached vary. Those are the same dates I have.

So is the news good or bad for people that have only been UR for 2 weeks? I consider myself far from a auto-reject for Berkeley. Should I expect to be moved to committee review soon or what?

Maybe we'll be in the second committee review batch next month that releases decisions in March.

It seems that our chances of admission only go up slightly with faculty review, if the interview with Dean Tom is correct.

This is prolly true .... can we assume that Oct/Nov UR folks are now rejected since we did not go into Faculty Review??
