hahaha exact same thing happened to me! (with a slightly lower offer though... but I'll take it!) Congrats!

It will take a while longer especially you have the holidays sandwiched in there. I think it took over a month for Nov. submitters.

What were your #'s? Do you have anything under money & mailings on the admitted students site?

First, congratulations to all those who got the Dean's scholarships.

I am 11/19 admit here. I snooped around LSN and it looks like from 2009-2010 cycle, the vast majority of people around my numbers (171/3.7) have gotten some kind of $$ (I excluded those people who did not report any $$ in their profile even from lower ranked schools). How common is it to get Dean's scholarships and/or should I be bummed if I don't get them?

You should get $45000 or so if last year's number holds. You can always ask them for it. I did and got $45000.

ah, thanks - I will get on it if I don't hear anything in the next few days!

btw, I just noticed that my number doesn't get me anything at peer schools VP (though I have low hopes for both schools anyway) how is it that Michigan is more financially generous than some other peer schools?

My anecdotal experience: they only offer merit aid or need-based aid, not both (at least that was the answer I got). I know peer schools like P may package scholarships and grants together. I don't know if anyone has gotten any sizable grants to M but maybe they give everyone merit money that they allot for so they can control the budget? I think I would probably have received more need-based money from peer schools.

Anyone have any different experiences?

I think that they're more generous because they seem to cap their dean's schollies at $67.5k, so they can afford to give out more, smaller packages rather than just focus on big ones.

But I dunno!

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info - because I've been working for past several years, I wouldn't have gotten need-based anyway. so, if I get something from Michigan, it definitely would be the best deal for me.

Long time, no talk, dulc! (I haven't heard from other schools, so not as active) that probably makes sense. Again, since my numbers are no good, I wouldn't have qualified for any of those big schollys at other schools, so Michigan is the best deal for me....

why, why - everything points to Michigan for me?

Are people getting scholarship info ones that have been accepted much earlier on in the cycle, or pretty much everyone to this point?

I received my complete email at the end of November, and zilch since. I'm guessing my status checker will arrive sometime in the first half of January.

Been complete since the second week of November...starting to give up hope. They waitlisted me last year, when I applied in mid-January. Totally thought this year would be different with an earlier application and slightly higher GPA/LSAT :(

Woah, that is good news! (I'm numbers twins with pulandasu) I was not expecting to have any chance at money from Mich.

I agree. I feel like everything that happens is insuring me going to michigan. Not that I am complaining, I just didn't see things panning out this way. But hey this summer before taking my lsat I was hoping to do well enough to have a shot at UNC, now I am looking at mich with a nice scholly. So I guess I should just count my blessings.

EEEEEEEEKKKK! I just got a Dean's Scholarship letter!!! Holy crap, I never could have guessed I would get money at Michigan. I got $54,000 ($18,000 per year). 171, 3.7, accepted around November 24. Also, my ASW page never reflected a money mailing.

Good luck to others!!!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
