Apparently they are still holding applicants as well. Just got my decision and I am on hold. More waiting. NU is one of the few schools I haven't withdrawn my application from and the only one where I have a reasonable shot of getting in.

Hey Guys,

If I feel that Berkeley is a better fit for me..is it crazy to stay on the hold for Northwestern? I was thinking of using it as possibly scholarship leverage at CAL..Thoughts?

Just got placed on hold today. That's interesting because I had just posted about being tired of waiting for my decision. From what I have read here being placed on hold is better than being wait-listed. Anyone know about Northwestern specifically?

I really don't think NU will be scholarship leverage against Boalt, especially with no money.

If I were you I'd withdraw.

Nope you should just remove your name from the hold list.

Seriously though I have heard that it can be a little tricky to do that sort of thing, especially if you don't have any money offered from Northwestern. Some at Berkeley might not even view Northwestern as a peer school. I don't know a ton about this though.

I don't see how Northwestern could provide you with any scholarship leverage at Berkeley. Mostly because I don't see how you could go from being held to being offered money. Further, I heard a rumor that Berkeley specifically excludes NU from their scholarship-matching policy.

Just got the email. Rejected as well. Stats in lsn profile. Good luck to everyone still waiting and hoping. I'm not too upset since it was the fee waiver that got me to apply, but it still sucks to see that short and not-so-sweet letter. I'm crossing my fingers for all you people!

On hold. Pretty suprising, I applied after the deadline and they never even sent me a complete e-mail. I assumed they threw my app in the trash.

Getting in after missing the deadline would be one I haven't heard of before. Good luck!

Just to double echo Chadwick and TTT, I'm pretty sure my sincere unconditional LOCI is what got me accepted from being on hold....

Do people getting in off hold have any chance of receiving money?

That would be counterproductive to my plan of getting rejected by all the top 8.

I've only been rejected by two T14s. Granted, I applied to four, and still have to hear from two...

does anyone know if Northwestern's scholly deadline/deposit requires withdrawal from other schools? I don't see that in the letter, but just wanted to check.

I am also on hold. I have now been waitlisted at MVPCG, so guess what I am expecting?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
