Got the WL e-mail as well. I'm pretty pumped about it considering I was expecting a straight up ding!

I received it as well. UR 12/29 --> 1/28. Email reads like this:

Greetings from Hyde Park!

While the Admissions committee continues to consider your candidacy, the Financial Aid Committee would like to invite you to apply for our new Merit Scholarship. Because of your outstanding academic achievement, you are among a select group of applicants that have been identified as possible recipients. To participate, please submit a 500 word essay discussing your reasons for applying to the University of Chicago Law School and how our programs will assist you in achieving your personal and professional goals. This essay should be submitted by February 15, 2010 via email to Karla Vargas, Director of Financial Aid.

Once your essay is received, it will be reviewed and joined with your admissions application. Scholarship decisions will be released upon admission.

No word here...Been UR since November, but the date has updated a few times. Most recently 1/11. Anyone else still 1/11?

I've been at "Application Received" since 1/1/10. Hopefully I'm not the only one who has had to wait so long just to go UR.

From here and LSN, it looks like today was a wrap-up for all of the files completed in Sept. and Oct.

I've been complete since early Dec and still not under review. So no, you're not the only one.

Not me. Complete in late October. Went UR on 11/2, which updated to 12/29, and nothing since.

Can't think of what else it could be. The most they offered in the past was $90k over 3yrs. Trying to steal HYS admits this year I see. Bold moves.

I find it odd that they took so damn long to review us Sept. completes only to WL all of us. That seems very weird.

Maybe YP? They GPA median isn't very impressive so I'd think they'd admit you (especially to counter-balance my GPA). I think it's pretty obvious that some of the T10s are trying to bump their LSAT medians and it looks like Chicago is in that bunch.

I don't know, Crack. There's something about your application that makes a couple of these schools (Harvard, Chicago) take an unusually long time to figure out that they want to hold/wl you.

Seems to me like subtle and tricky way to YP... allow superstar applicants to apply for merit aid before letting them in and then WL 'em if they don't even bother to apply?
