Checking in. Accepted 1/31. Significant splitter, so I'm doubting any scholly will be coming my way unless it's need based. Only received waitlists and a half ride to my local regional, so UVA is looking like home at this point.

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
It seems that UVA is admitting the overwelming majority of people (that they've made decisions on) with a GPA of 3.86 or above (their median), even with super low GPAs- a reverse splitter's dream. My 3.85 GPA is just barely below that and my LSAT is crap (161). I'm hoping that they'll stick me on the waitlist and admit me when it goes to a 3.88 in May.

Waitlisted
I was kind of hopeful. 164/3.98 (nonURM). Interviewed 1/13

Does the acceptance packet normally come with scholarship info? Or does that come later?

Mine came in a letter with my acceptance pack. It included the dean's welcome letter, scholarship letter, and Honor Code letter.ray.bee wrote:Does the acceptance packet normally come with scholarship info? Or does that come later?

So I assume if I only got the honor code and welcome letter, then I'm SOL? I was expecting that already:) hahamrgstephe wrote:Mine came in a letter with my acceptance pack. My experience is only 1 data point. SweetTort obviously had a different experience (he also got his acceptance/scholly information muuuuuuuuuch earlier in the cycle).SweetTort wrote:ray.bee wrote:So I assume if I only got the honor code and welcome letter, then I'm SOL? FWIW, only like 48% of matriculants receive scholarships of any valuation, so unless you were at both medians, or close to one and very above the other, I wouldn't expect anything (I was pleasantly surprised to get anything given my 168)

Not so true. My GPA was at the 25% and LSAT about yours. I got accepted -- but I did have significant work experience..

Re: UVA c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Admitted a month ago with a 3.87 and 168, but haven't heard anything on the fin aid end. Michigan offered a $90K dean's scholarship, but I really love UVA and hoping for an offer of some sort... Any idea what my chances are either based on personal experience or knowledge from previous years?
Thank you all so much!
