agreed. The differential is not enough between HYS and CLS to justify all that debt.az21833 wrote:graduating from CLS debt free is the best law school admission outcome one can attain IMHO. and yes even better than YLS.
Hmm.. not that I am going to get a Hamilton, but I'm not sure I agreeaz21833 wrote:graduating from CLS debt free is the best law school admission outcome one can attain IMHO. and yes even better than YLS.
this is what I am thinking. also if you want to do anything abroad.. the Harvard name might come in handyManOfTheMinute wrote:Hmm.. not that I am going to get a Hamilton, but I'm not sure I agreeaz21833 wrote:graduating from CLS debt free is the best law school admission outcome one can attain IMHO. and yes even better than YLS.In law firms/academia/courts there is such a distinction between HYS and Columbia. It definitely depends on the person and what they want their career path to look like though.
Yeah, I think it largely has to do with what you want to do after law school. Biglaw in NYC? Hamilton at CLS is the way to go. But there still is a line between YHS and Columbia that seems to be difficult to cross mentally, esp for academia/clerking. (But I haven't gotten into YHS so this is a discussion I will hopefully be lucky to have in the future.)ManOfTheMinute wrote:Hmm.. not that I am going to get a Hamilton, but I'm not sure I agreeIn law firms/academia/courts there is such a distinction between HYS and Columbia. You've gotten me beat in LSAT, GPA, and WE--and almost as good taste in videogames. I'm sure you'll be fine.Lavitz wrote:Congrats!vzapana wrote:NCE - letter date 2/1 - my app was complete 11/7 - hooray!
Since your letter was dated yesterday, I'm not even going to ask location this time. I'm just going to assume that if I'm in that batch, mine should arrive on Monday.
It seems like every day, I lose all hope and then someone on here restores it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does NCE stand for? It's clearly an acceptance letter, but...vzapana wrote:NCE - letter date 2/1 - my app was complete 11/7 - hooray!
Normal Colored Envelope. It's a large white envelope with the acceptance materials. It used to be this weird color, so it was called a Vomit Colored Envelope (VCE).txdude45 wrote:Pardon my ignorance, but what does NCE stand for? It's clearly an acceptance letter, but...
