agreed. The differential is not enough between HYS and CLS to justify all that debt.

Hmm.. not that I am going to get a Hamilton, but I'm not sure I agree In law firms/academia/courts there is such a distinction between HYS and Columbia. It definitely depends on the person and what they want their career path to look like though.

Yeah I wouldn't say it's the best decision for everyone. I would definitely take a Ruby/Hamilton over SLS and HLS, and I would at least entertain taking the full ride over YLS. Ofc, I'm never going to be looking at options like that so it's irrelevant

Yeah, I think it largely has to do with what you want to do after law school. Biglaw in NYC? Hamilton at CLS is the way to go. But there still is a line between YHS and Columbia that seems to be difficult to cross mentally, esp for academia/clerking. (But I haven't gotten into YHS so this is a discussion I will hopefully be lucky to have in the future.)

Normal Colored Envelope. It's a large white envelope with the acceptance materials. It used to be this weird color, so it was called a Vomit Colored Envelope (VCE).
