I have a theory: they are calling all the admits in the North East, to take advantage of a time when sunny California is extra appealing. The Dean did ask me how the Snowpocalypse was proceeding...

I'm feeling like you're heading for FR2. I think they already dinged most of those that they weren't going to send to FR1 or 2. I'm hopin for some good news headed your way!CatFacts wrote:texas1990 wrote:wisteria wrote:Congrats!texas1990 wrote:

We are pretty much numbers twins (0.01 point difference in our GPAs). I remember you from the USC thread where you were offered $90k and I was offered $75k. ;_;
As for Berkeley, I was never assigned to faculty review though so I fear they're saving me for the ding pile.

162/3.7 non-URM
Never really bought anything about people being "released early"...
Congrats though, excited for you and the rest of the admits!!
It doesn't seem to me that Boalt has a motive to lie about this. Plus, you'd think more than two TLSers would have gotten in off of FR1 once it's all said and done.

I know I am getting way to excited but do you think I can relax and wait until next week since I am on the west coast or hold out with my excitement that maybe they are still making calls...Rory19 wrote:OMG we have nearly the same numbers and I am in faculty review. Not to be cynical but numbers at Berk are pretty irrelevant up to a certain point.Rory19 wrote:OMG we have nearly the same numbers and I am in faculty review. That being said, your GPA is in their happy place and I hope you get in.
G'luck.

Re: Berkeley c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Don't think this means too much for the rest of FR1 yet...some will have to hear via email and those don't seem to have come out yet at all. Based on last year's cycle though the closer to the decision date provided the more likely you are to be rejected. Those who heard a few days before the decision date reported acceptances. Those continued until the day before the date provided, with a sprinkle of waitlists. But based on LSN, everyone who heard on the date provided was rejected.
Also, numbers don't seem to matter in faculty review. Having the same GPA or lsat won't mean much at all in this phase of the game. This is where it gets truly holistic.
I'm nervous yo.

do you know what happened to people who were still UR by the time FR1 decisions came out? did most of them head to FR2/reject/WL?sean21 wrote:Don't think this means too much for the rest of FR1 yet...some will have to hear via email and those don't seem to have come out yet at all. I am a bit confused... as I have been UR since Nov.. and I feel like they had plenty of time to decide on my app by now..

I reread my PS a couple weeks after submitting my app and noticed TWO pretty obvious grammar mistakes. So dumb. Berk was one of my top choices, but now I can't get excited at all. I had a slim chance even before the mistakes...now I feel like it's going to be an auto-reject.

You're prob FR2, which would mean you'd get an email Friday saying they need 2 more weeks. Although it's weird w your high lsat. Do you have interesting WE or a real low gpa? If your gpa is high then im as lost as you are. I think most of the non FR rejects from sept to dec have already been made. You also need FR to make the WL I believe

Re: Berkeley c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Apologies if there is a better place for this:
I am trying to submit my FAFSA before Berkeley's March 2nd deadline, but it will be onerous for my parents to complete their 2012 tax returns by then. Has anyone spoken with Berkeley's financial aid office to ask if a 2011 estimate is okay (as FAFSA allows)? If not, I will call on Monday and report back.

OH YAY, next week is the culling of the herd. I, for one, look forward to being done with the waiting already.

Hey all, I've been under review since 11/28
Surprising that it's taking so long with my numbers:
3.89 gpa and 174 LSAT
Is Berkeley know to take this long? Also, maybe they don't think that I'm serious about attending (which I am)...

I can't wait to stop waiting this week only so I can wait another two weeks when I likely (hopefully) get FR2.
