This might be a dumb question, but how are you sending in your LOCIs? Are you sending them as attachments or in the body of the email?

I'd recommend attaching it so they can print it and put it with your file. Then just include a short note about your continued interest in the body of the email.

Congrats!

I don't know how they are doing it this year (if anyone off the WL has received money, feel free to chime in!), but last year I received an email with my merit aid offer 9 days after being admitted (for the record, I did not have this memorized but just looked it up in my email).

In off the waitlist yesterday afternoon! Playing telephone tag was totally worth it! No $$ though so this will take a bit of consideration. Just excited for now!

That individual also attended Cornell, which you failed to mention. Fordham takes pride in admitting students from top universities.

ETA: Look, this conversation's not worth having. My school is on that page too, it's not about that. I'm allowed to hate my life right now.

Care to explain why you hate your life because someone was admitted off the WL?

Because I have the same offer and will likely be taking it.

You could always reapply next year. Applications will likely be down, so your numbers will stand out more.

We have an answer to the eternal riddle: who is smart enough to score a 173, but dumb enough to enroll at Fordham at sticker price?

Honestly I'm trying to be encouraging. 173 is an excellent score. Best of luck to you.

It's a strange and meaningless list, if you ask me. Rutgers, GW, Fordham, NYU, UM, and BC aren't particularly outstanding undergrad schools. Seems random to me. I wonder how stable this club of feeders really is.

Your UG institution does not really make any substantial difference. The reason those are top feeder schools is largely based on location. People who went to schools in NY (east coast) generally want to stay in the area, and same with the west coast. Almost no one I know on the west coast is aware that Fordham is a good LS. To be honest, I was not aware until I applied. Now that I attend, I see Fordham really does have a GREAT reputation in NY, but it doesn't travel too well to the west coast.

Cog, I am truly shocked that you did not get money. I recommend trying again with the admissions office. I am not going to say it will work, but you're already admitted and it can't hurt.

With those numbers in theory you will be in the top percentage of graduates if you can continue with that academic prowess.... Fordham is well worth sticker for the top grads..... Of course theory and reality are not always related but 4.0s are hard to come by period and has to say something about future potential....

I will also add you cannot judge someone's potential or how Fordhams AdComm viewed that candidate based on the raw numbers alone. They say they look beyond the numbers and I know for a fact they do.... You just never know what the softs were or how amazing the PS may have been.....
