On the soon-to-be eve of my 4 month anniversary of going into review, I'm wondering who all is left out there that is pre-halloween that hasn't heard back yet?
People who have gone complete before and after me have gotten decisions, and people with better and worse numbers than me have gotten decisions...

Okay fine...all of this ^ is true. The exaggeration was RC Fail on my part....or maybe memory fail.somewhere wrote:This is a guess. It may be a roughly educated guess rather than a purely wild one, since it's likely based on anecdotes and the self-selected (and therefore probably not broadly representative) data from LSN/TLS, but it's a guess all the same.well-hello-there wrote:... those schools would accept you sure...but they ALL wouldn't be throwing all that money your way with a 167. period. it doesn't happen.
And you're also exaggerating the scenario: they're not "all" throwing "all that money." If you're looking at the same profile I'm looking at, I believe there's only one school in the T14 that's offering (so far) very large sums of money, and that's Virginia; and even there, the sum (90k), divided over three years, is certainly substantial but not a full-ride.
I agree it's not downright unbelievable or crazy. I do think that it is like hitting the law school application lottery, however. (Not to say that it was luck but rather in terms of the number of people who actually pull something like this off.)somewhere wrote: I'll say it again: it looks to be a very good cycle, better than the numbers alone would predict, which suggests an unusually strong application apart from those numbers, but nothing shocking or crazy or outlandish or downright unbelievable.
i'll stop now.

on another note...just noticed that virginia is listed first on LSN. tied with G-town at 784 total applicants but it put UVA first for obvious reasons.

Woot! I'll take credit for this, as someone who hates Gtown enough to make it pretty much the only T14 school I didn't apply to.well-hello-there wrote:on another note...just noticed that virginia is listed first on LSN. tied with G-town at 784 total applicants but it put UVA first for obvious reasons.
(I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that UVA gives fee waivers to.. well, everyone.. lol)

It was one of three I didn't apply to. Just couldn't see myself there (oh and they didn't give me a fee waiver).arism87 wrote:Woot! Both GULC and UVA gave me fee waivers. GULC rejected me and UVA wait listed me. In this cycle so far, GULC has been my only rejection......I really think these fee waivers at the T14 are to up selectivity because I'm sure they have enough applicants.arism87 wrote:Woot! I think for the most part your right. However, I received a fee waiver from UVA and was accepted. I think the consensus, however, is that fee waivers are not much of an indication of anything.DeeCee wrote:Both GULC and UVA gave me fee waivers. GULC rejected me and UVA wait listed me.
