Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
I was put on hold in early February and interviewed in mid-Feb, fwiw. I scheduled my interview the day after being held but there weren't many slots open when I looked. Dunno if I somehow just slipped through their online system or what.

So I've heard about people getting offered a $150,000 scholarship if they defer a year. How do they select those people? I'd love to take that deal. Is there any way to get yourself considered for such a scholarship?

Those scholarships are usually offered to kids straight out of undergrad with HYS numbers and no work experience. NU wants them to get that magical one year of WE and then come to Chicago to contribute their beautiful numbers to the median.

Just had a phone interview with a very charming admissions officer. Hopefully I seemed equally charming? We shall see!

There are Skype audio and Skype audio + video options if you´re far away and don´t leave near an alum, so that´s what I went for.dddhhh wrote:oh wow! Does anyone have the names or contact info for any admissions officers at Northwestern? They don't seem to put it on the website.

e-mail the general admissions address? They probably don't publicize them for a reasonmarathonapplicant wrote:Does anyone have the names or contact info for any admissions officers at Northwestern? They don't seem to put it on the website.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
What does everyone think about the prospects for hold applicants this year? I think it is pretty obvious that NU did not get the overall body of applicants they were looking for this year, hence the application deadline extension. LSN is also not showing too many applicants since Feb. 1. My hope is that they will dip further into their hold applicants than they might otherwise, due to this unexpected drop in applications.

I think Hold interviews are only on-campus IIRCGotti wrote:can we do this with 2nd interviews after the hold decision???ChriLa425 wrote:There are Skype audio and Skype audio + video options if you´re far away and don´t leave near an alum, so that´s what I went for.dddhhh wrote:oh wow! Yeah, I'm going to try to interview on-campus, but I'll just conveniently be in Chicago for Spring Break. I don't think I would pay for a plane ticket to go interview unless it was my #1 and I would make that well-known to them.Gotti wrote:FML. i don't think I want to spend that much $ and time to go do that.

I'm in the same boat. I really want to interview, but...I can't afford to throw money around like that.

Hey all,
So I submitted my app on 1/27 and went complete 2/17, shortly after my on-campus interview. Today it was updated to complete 2/28. Does this mean a decision will arrive shortly?
Thanks!

Just to be clear, the 2nd interview refers to an on-campus interview after you've already had an alumni one, right? (i.e. If I've already done on-campus there's nothing else I can do in the interviewing department, right?)Gotti wrote:can we do this with 2nd interviews after the hold decision???ChriLa425 wrote:There are Skype audio and Skype audio + video options if you´re far away and don´t leave near an alum, so that´s what I went for.dddhhh wrote:oh wow! Complete updates tend to denote that someone has looked over your file, doesn't really give any of us an estimate as to whether a decision will be rendered soon.jrose5 wrote:Hey all,

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Alright! Thanks. I know for certain other schools, the # of complete dates can be indicative of when a decision is imminent. Suppose that isn't true for NU.pimpsdontcry wrote:Complete updates tend to denote that someone has looked over your file, doesn't really give any of us an estimate as to whether a decision will be rendered soon.jrose5 wrote:Hey all,
