Does anyone know the exact dates the admissions office will be closed for the holidays (so we know which days to give ourselves a break from obsessively status-checking)?

Most schools will let you access it without your student login credentials. It is just a web database and your school is a subscriber which grant you use access.

yes, it was a fine moment for me when i thought i was special because i was getting so many updates. then i came here. it was like that commercial where the guy is like "i just took your moment, didn't i? moment returned."

except that moment can never be returned.

Sent 11/11, status tracker 12/15. I'm still listed as "complete" on the status tracker even though I got the package in the mail today. Needless to day, I wasn't expecting anything for at least a month or so from UM. I'm pretty excited

Got my packet in the mail today. Status checker still says complete, but I found out via admitted students site yesterday. Was dated December 21st with a very nice handwritten note about my personal statement. Thanks Michigan. Very impressive packet. Now just send a Darrow invite my way...

Already posted, RD 11/15 submission, 12/15 status checker, in via admitted students 12/23, but today I got my letter in the mail.

A truly excellent holiday surprise for my doorman, who watched me rip it open in the lobby of my building. Loved the handwritten note about my interest and background in IP law making my an excellent fit for U Michigan -- fabulous admissions packet.

Can't wait to see everyone at ASW!
