My guess: Yes. You have a chance. But please, let this video clip answer your question:macaulian wrote:My file was complete 3/1. 178, 3.04, 2 yr we as teacher
First, does this mean I wont be hearing anything until the very last day,
Second, do I have no chance now that so many people have already been admitted?

Tuition is all but finalized. $50,657 for tuition/fees & health insurance next year for non-residents. Budget for books is $1,905 and $19,107 for living expenses. I was also able to keep my full grant amount along with my scholarship money.

Re: UCLA?
I should basically write out my deposit check to UCLA right now and pin it up on my fridge. The moment I hear I'm WL'd or rejected from Cornell I'll put it in an envelope and mail it out. If I'm accepted to Cornell, then I'll play eeny meeny miny mo with a U.S. map to decide which coast I'll end up at.

The financial aid award notices they are handing out this week include figures for tuition + health insurance, approximate amount for books, and the rest of cost of living.angela wrote:hey where did you find those figures; was it released somewhere? thanksJericwithers wrote:Tuition is all but finalized. $50,657 for tuition/fees & health insurance next year for non-residents. Depends where else you got in, what they offered, what you want to do, etc. Out of state stings a little extra but at least it can be just the one yeardaesonesb wrote:would any of you pay sticker?
Edit: out of state it's 51k with fees, plus 20k COL for next year.

I'm curious, what's in-state tuition for next year? (mine's out).

something like 41k with tuition and fees. In state at UCLA functions like a 10k/yr scholarship at cornell for years 2 and 3.turkishangora wrote:I'm curious, what's in-state tuition for next year? (mine's out).
You still end up shitpiled in debt though.

Re: UCLA?
I can't find 2010-2011 fees on the UCLA website, but on the Berkeley website fees went up from about $37k (2009-10) to $44k (2010-11) and the 2012-13 fees are budgeted at almost $52k. (That's for residents!) I would expect UCLA to be similarly priced.
I don't know if these numbers even factor in the recent court ruling that UC refund past graduates $38 million dollars. Obviously, California has serious ongoing budget issues and if UC is not able get that overturned on appeal, schools will need to increase tuition further to cover that expense.
It's really a bummer that California doesn't have any affordable public law schools. According to LSN, tuition for 2006-07 was about $25k: doubling in six years, is pretty ridiculous.
