The Big East was seriously overrated.
But hey, if Washington could pull it out, maybe Cal can too!

Even with Amoke out (nice timing, Omondi), I still like Cal over Louisville.BioEBear2010 wrote:I am getting royally screwed. I hate calling the wrong upsets.crackberry wrote:I'm 10/12 now FWIW. Pac-10 love.

Louisville could lose to Cal and be one and done or beat Duke and coast to the Elite 8.leftofthedial wrote:I occasionally stop by here to see if people are hearing things, but I just happened to be here at the right moment to tell you don't underestimate Louisville...when they're on, they are pretty good.

Hell of a first day, I agree. So many close finishes. I went 13-3, which in retrospect I'm quite shocked about. I missed Ohio, Old Dominion and Wake Forest. I think I'm in trouble tomorrow though - too many upset picks to last long.Lmao Zedong wrote:absolute wreck of a day, my worst opening day ever. marquette in particular tore my heart out. anytime a monkey/toddler/random number generator (8/16) outperforms you, you know you're in for a long tournament
edit: but, all rooting interests aside, i really think this has been the most entertaining opening day in a long time, maybe that i've ever seen
I have them going to the Elite 8...go Cards!crackberry wrote:Louisville could lose to Cal and be one and done or beat Duke and coast to the Elite 8.leftofthedial wrote:I occasionally stop by here to see if people are hearing things, but I just happened to be here at the right moment to tell you don't underestimate Louisville...when they're on, they are pretty good.

It's ok crack, maybe we're better off being a set of small pieces of stiff paper marked in various ways and used for playing games or for telling fortunes than a color.crackberry wrote:Fixed.leftofthedial wrote:go Card[strike]s[/strike]!
really? in addition to their seed difference (murray 13, OU 14), OU beat Gtown soundly, while murray only eked it out over vandy.Nightrunner wrote:No, Murray St. is the Cinderella.Pausanias wrote:Crap, I am now 7/11 (8/12 if Marquette keeps it up). Is Ohio the Cinderella?
I think this stopped being a Yale thread a long time ago. It's basically a huge OT discussion that gets occasionally interrupted by a batch of YLS acceptances or rejections.lawyering wrote:so.....go yale! can we maybe start a separate march madness thread?

Also, sorry to hear about the dings.
They're the first Ivy League team to win a first round game since probably Princeton or Penn I don't know how long ago. When was the last time Harvard won a first round game/made the NCAAs? I have no idea.Lysis wrote:Why is Cornell getting so much love in the Yale thread?
The Big Red are totally the clowns of the league. They're not even the best red-color-based team.
