i'd say "freaking out" as someone put it is pretty justified

come on, this is a pretty nasty tactic they're deploying. not to mention costly for applicants. many will have to put down a deposit somewhere else before even receiving their NU decision, including people who applied in October and September. if it's a waitlist, call it one. otherwise, don't make people do a dance while paying deposits they may not have otherwise paid.

They should offer a scholarship equivalent to a seat deposit already paid for anyone held then admitted.

I wouldn't lose hope yet. Northwestern may be the slowest in releasing decisions, but there's probably a reason for that. They review applicants differently, so if you haven't gotten a decision yet, I'd take it as a sign that they're still deciding and weighing different things. Hang in there.

I'm sure it's in the 83 pages of the thread somewhere, and I'm aware you're all well within your rights to tell me to search for it my damn self. I just wondered if someone knew off the top of their head and could save me a few hours.

I have a 161 and was waitlisted, so they might be looking at other factors.

Mine took about 10 weeks, but I can only speak anecdotal about it.

You'll get a separate email, but it will be available in the checker first.

Your file only goes "complete" after your interview is done, so anywhere from 7-12 weeks after that. At this point in the cycle, it could be less.
