Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
After jumping through GULC's seemingly infinite series of hoops, I finally got my FA award letter yesterday and it's...$80k+/year in loans. Not even a dime of need-based aid. Not entirely surprised because I know they're not known for generous aid. Oh well. I've enjoyed all of your company, but looks like I'll be catching everyone in the other applicants threads. Best of luck to the rest of you!

So all of a sudden I can't login to check my application status and when I try to reset my password it says my username is wrong. I've been signing in with the same username for the past month

For those who have received scholarships, did you get them by email or snail mail?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
I called the Financial Aid office today, just to make sure that I hadn't missed some crucial step in the application process. The aid officer looked at my file, said that while specific amounts cannot be discussed over the phone, I have been awarded grant aid, and that I would be receiving an award letter sometime early next week via snail mail.

I was offered 40k/yr, combined need & merit, but it came within an email that said to accept the scholarship I had to submit an intent to enroll form by 04/10. It's not clear if I don't get it if I just enroll normally later--I wrote to them to clarify and to ask for an extension. That's an awfully quick and high-pressure deadline when I haven't even heard from all the schools to which I applied.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
The "intent to enroll" form is just that, a form stating that you intend to enroll, not an actual enrollment - it doesn't require that you withdraw from any other school, or in fact enroll.NimChimpsky wrote:Good to know, thanks!RandomDude wrote:http://blogs.law.yale.edu/blogs/admissi ... rency.aspxNimChimpsky wrote:I was offered 40k/yr, combined need & merit, but it came within an email that said to accept the scholarship I had to submit an intent to enroll form by 04/10.
