Ah yes, very true. I forgot the correlation between JS1b and admission.drawstring wrote:I think if you get the JS1B admission is almost guaranteed though. Being phoned to inform you of a WL would be horrible,................"OMG OMG OMG I'M GOING TO Y.........ooops"

lol at my studying this yearjettison63 wrote:And now more rejections on LSN.
I'm pulling an all-nighter studying for a midterm. On the bright side the adrenaline wouldn't let me sleep right now anyway. Unfortunately LSN and TLS is semi-distracting (clearly). Also on the bright side is the fact that I'm up late studying in no way impacts my enthusiasm for getting another grad degree. Perhaps I'll look back on this night in a few years with a bit of irony.
Dying to know who got the call tonight.
law school admissions destroyed my final year performance

It's a call waitlisted applicants at Harvard get the day or so before being admitted. It's done for yield protect purposes, and basically if you suggest that you'll go to Harvard you get in.jettison63 wrote:JS1b?Nonconsecutive wrote:Yeah that would really suck. That is sort of similar to the JS1b in a way though.drawstring wrote:Can you imagine if they called to WL people though? What a letdown

Sorry to hear that, I think Yale can sting a little for everyone, just because Yale.Dekal2009 wrote:Ding, Ding, Ding.

You're going to have good options elsewhere though.

Re: Yale c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
long time lurker here...
Dreamt last night all YLS applicants were in a classroom waiting for Asha to tell us the final decision on our application. Everybody was lined up and upon hearing your name you would step forward and hear if you were rejected or not.
It was like a firing squad. Law School style.
Worst dream ever.

I'm not sure how worthwhile it is to speculate about the behind-the-scenes process, but I find the sequencing of this notification process interesting. The expectation (based on last year) I believe (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that the rejections would come out yesterday and today, followed by waitlists/acceptances from Wednesday to Friday (?). If the tweet from last night though indicates that it is just a matter of waiting for the faculty review (because it looks as though the admissions office generously/mercifully tries to notify applicants ASAP), then I wonder what accounts for some of the rejections going out on Monday and others on Tuesday (because presumably if the office were just waiting to receive faculty review decisions, it would be doling out acceptances and rejections on Tuesday as well).

we know that last night's acceptances were from FR, rather than asha admits.Nelu wrote:I'm not sure how worthwhile it is to speculate about the behind-the-scenes process, but I find the sequencing of this notification process interesting. my guess is that the monday dings were a mix of autodings, fully completed FRs, and partially completed FRs (files that received either a '2' or two '3's). my conjecture for the last group is that the admissions order doesn't need to wait on the last review for those with a maximum score of 10, while those who might hit 11 (or possibly 12) are held until complete decisions are in and they can be ordered into acceptances v. waitlist.

So the LSN waitlist reported last night -- user error?
