Wow. What did the letter say? You don't have to divulge it completely, but what was the gist of the letter?

Ummm, OK. The gist of the letter was that I should stop logging into the status checker 2,000 times a second on four different computers. While it is true the Harvard website has a glitch whereby anyone who checks their status 1,000,009 times will be automatically admitted, they can come after me for damages and are legally entitled to deny my a meal plan should I matriculate.

Oh. While I was examining the letter from Harvard IT's legal team it fell into the fireplace and when I fished it out some glowing words appeared at the bottom! They read:
"PS Be careful when posting jokes on TLS because even though you may think it's obvious that absurd statements are not true it's very hard to convey tone on the internet and some people might take you seriously. One time this guy we knew had a friend or cousin who made jokes on TLS and his gerbil died the same day. If you have posted jokes on TLS, make sure to forward this letter to 5 friends within 24 hours or your gerbil might die too!"
