btw, does GULC give out decisions over the phone? Cause if they do, guess who will be calling tomorrow
EDIT: never mind: "It is the policy of the Admissions Office not to release decisions by phone."

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Well, I think there may be an accept or two, more likely a few WL's, but for the most part, I'm expecting a ding - look at last year's 12/8 batch on LSN - quite a few URM/Non-trad's (relatively speaking) and it's when the dings started to come. When I look up the numbers people have posted here, for the most part they are straight ding numbers.SanBun wrote:ruleser wrote:That's one theory - but here another that can explain it:brose002 wrote:It seems everyone on this list has good softs/WE/URM status. Maybe we are the waitlists?
We are simply the lower number people - the ones who submitted with numbers that usually wouldn't get someone in. The reason there are a lot of URM/interest soft/non-trad/PT/splitter is because this is why we submitted even though we didn't have the #'s. All of that is just coincidental. The batch is really just people with numbers too low to get in.
Not saying that's it, just another theory. My numbers/WE/softs etc. give me realistic shot at PT - but it is a stretch and likely reject if the softs/WE don't make up for the GPA.
so you're leaning towards rejection batch?
But then again, everyone in this batch matches a person who was accepted as the rare exception due to URM/WE/softs, etc. So we can't know, but now I'd guess they went through the special/borderline pile, maybe took the couple they liked, and are ready to tell the rest of us thanks but no thanks.
EDIT: Personally, I expect an e-mail tomorrow-Thurs with my ding.

Decision rendered today as well. ED for PT. My numbers are not exactly competitive but I do have 6+ years WE since college and a few other things working for me. Still, I'm fully expecting a rejection.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'd say that I have pretty outstanding softs (see LSN), but I am convinced it's a ding for me too. I just have this idea of Gtown as an extremely # focused institution. The funny thing is, I don't even know that I would attend if I got in, simply because of the degree mill reputation, but I would have loved that acceptance under my belt nonetheless, I'm not gonna lieruleser wrote:

I just read your LSN - did you apply FT/PT? If you are PT, I don't see you getting rejected - I'd think you a straight admit.SanBun wrote:Yeah, I think you're right. Ah, ok. Well, you fit the mold of this group perfectly. Incredible softs, numbers borderline enough that you prob. got put in the cool soft/borderline group, but numbers that usually wouldn't get you in.SanBun wrote:FT, which is why I'm expecting a dingruleser wrote: I just read your LSN - did you apply FT/PT? All of us in this group I can see getting admitted (and there are ones just like us who have) - if it were just a couple of us with a group of people with normal admit numbers, I'd say the few of us would be in. But it being just a group of really cool but just under-numbered people, I can't see them accepting a huge exception batch. Just a few of us at most...
Pretty cool group though - great softs, URMs, etc. It'll be a privelege getting rejected with you all...

I've been at complete forever. Are they just dealing with ED and really good numbers first? Did everyone go "under review" before DR?

Not at all, actually. The current DR (decision rendered) batch is mainly borderline/splitters - some like me who are RD. They have done a lot of high number people as well.Oli wrote:I've been at complete forever. Are they just dealing with ED and really good numbers first? Did everyone go "under review" before DR?

That 170/3.1ish accept on the GTown graph gives me hope.

Am I the only ED PT applicant that still shows a status of "application complete" as of 11/03/2009?
Did they just forget about me?

Decision rendered 12/1. 163/3.65, blind so semi-urm/non-trad, don't really know the cred it carries? 4.0 six semesters after 8 surgeries. shit ton of volunteer work. SHIT SHIT SHIT! oh dear lord please don't be a rejection, my first letter can't be a rejection!!!
in other blind attempts at optimism, I had my Vandy interview today and my interviewer said I was the best interviewee he's ever had! Score! Plus the athletes coordinator that is my boss (I tutor student athletes) his Dad is a professor at Vandy, I'd like to think that might get me some lee way even though it won't. at least it helps me sleep at night.
OH SHIT, GEORGETOWN NO!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Yesterday, I got an email asking me to do an alumni interview "based on the strength of my application." I'm only a 169/3.6. Does anyone know anything about this process? My initial inclination is that it means I'm likely to be WL, but through a strong interview might push myself into an acceptance. (Sorry if this has already been covered, I wasn't able to read through 80+ pages of posts)
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
