The ad com person said "if you're not admitted by March" there's no hope. I did not clarify as to whether it means "before March 1" or "before March 31", but I'm guessing the former.tinycatfriend wrote:If you are admitted late (like around March) is there a chance at an RTK scholarship?
TITCR. It isn't ideal, I'll admit. But given how the general cycle plays out, we need to know who our interviewees are at least a couple of weeks before the interviews, so we can handle logistics effectively/efficiently. We also have to get interview panels ready (you interview with about 6 people at a time, and many are alums, professors, scholarship sponsors with tight schedules (Part of my scholarship is funded by Sullivan and Cromwell and the partner there insists on interviewing). So accommodating all of these things, not to mention the fact that so late in the cycle, Root offerees are making decisions between RTK and Rubies, RTK and Yale, RTK and Darrow, etc. I know at least one offeree that decided between the Root and not going to law school that year, too (they picked the latter, btw, and are now at Harvard) Taking all of that into account, we just have to pick a date after which we don't consider applicants.
