Last year the deposit confirmation email said "Thank you for shopping at Fordham online deposits!"
Thanks Jen, I have to wait for Monday (payday) anyway..... I should have the packet today I hope.

For those wondering, I was accepted this past Tuesday off the WL, and my deposit date is May 18 in the amount of 500$. I would assume that's the case for others admitted off the waitlist recently as well.

i hope so too, although idk how likely that will be. with the WL offers having first deposits due this week/late last week, i think Fordham admissions could just regroup until 2nd deposits are due and then go back to the waitlist.

its almost june- the season of nationwide waitlist movement is upon us!
keeping my fingers crossed to hear some good news!

Just paid my 2nd seat deposit. And ordered all my transcripts to be sent to Fordham. I don't think that I'll be dropping out, even if I do get into my WL schools (UCLA, MI, GULC). Everyone I've met from Fordham has been great, and I'm really looking forward to living in NYC, so you're all stuck with me. :P

Sweet SD. I went to an Alumni Reception here in DC last night. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was so nice and very real..... Quite a few of the Admissions Committee were there as well and was nice to put an actual face and handshake to the name.

I was thoroughly impressed with everyone I met...

Question for the 1L/2Ls on this site.
At what point do we find out what books we need?
Is it in the syllabus and is that released a few weeks before class?
Also, how often has a professor changed the required books?

Basically, I'd like to know
1) if I'll have time to order the books online
2) if there's a chance that I'll order the wrong book.

I've had previous classes where a professor changed the edition at the last minute, or where the syllabus was just wrong (teacher wanted a different book).

What are the odds of me getting screwed this way?

What are people's thoughts on sending in an additional LOCI or other supporting materials at this point? I won't be able to get an additional LOR in time, would an email pointing out that Fordham is still my top choice make any difference at this point?

Also, my final semester wasn't too impressive, should I avoid sending in an updated transcript until it's asked for?

On the registrar's page toward the end of the summer, there will be a list of all the classes and profs can go in and update their class by adding the syllabus or just a book list. They seem to go up with different speeds ... it's definitely not uniformly controlled by the registrar or any other central function.

I think in the fall, I had a couple of weeks notice, and in the spring it was more like ten days, between profs posting books and classes starting. You're totally fine on getting them in time if you buy new (esp. with Amazon Prime's free 2-day shipping). If you buy used from Amazon or elsewhere, you could run the risk of a slow shipper.

No profs changed the book list last minute. Most doctrinal classes will be taught by profs who've probably been using the same book (different editions) for years.

You will find out your books with just enough time to not be able to search for a good deal if you want them by when class starts.

Here is the biggest piece of advice I will regarding books - do NOT buy all the overpriced legal writing books. Now many of you are still going to want to drop a couple hundred on them, but when they sit in your locker all semester and you never ever opened them...you were warned! If must buy them and the editions haven't changed, mine are exactly where I left them on my locker and are unopened, so let me know.

Also, don't read the book for orientation. You're welcome. Definitely DO NOT go to the technology seminar unless you need to be taught how to use the Internet.

I only want the bare minimum - I'll figure out which supplements work for me within a week or two (though any tips are greatly appreciated)
If you will be willing to part with those, let's get in touch in August and I'm sure we can come up with an equitable arrangement

Thanks, by thè way

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
