Thank you Bobby Jindal (and all other Republicans).
Riiiiight.maxm2764 wrote: Who was talking about government spending? Reverting to Republican response 101 doesn't really help in this situation.
Trump won't run, but he's getting a ton of attention right now and loves it. He knows he won't win and he will split the republican vote and he doesn't want Obama back in office stealing his money and giving it to the lazy.
Right now it looks like Romney is the forerunner, though I would still like to see Jindal run. I like his economic views and he is a minority so he would take some of the liberal votes that are tired of Obama's lies.

Same...I went back to the 2010 thread and saw there were people admitted in May 2010, so I'm still holding out!txadv11 wrote:Wow, I'm sorry they are dragging ass on this thing.merc280 wrote:lucky us. another day has gone by and still nothing.
Limbo is still better than a rejection.
Yet, seriously, what are they doing back there? Looking for a trunk monkey? I think somebody procrastinated and just decided they would go through the giant stack over Easter weekend!

I could care less about Bobby Jindal but are you trying to say that states are not in a fiscal crisis right now? Education budgets in many states have created inefficient universities and debt ridden students. Have you seen the trend in tuition rates over the last couple decades? Any liberal that is complaining about cuts right now, at the federal or state level, is just clinging to ideological groundings at the loss of any common sense.maxm2764 wrote:
That's funny. Being blind to reality must be nice.
Also state budgets are state budgets. The federal budget is an entirely separate thing. HTH.

Nope, not what I was saying at all. But don't you worry yourself about it, I'll chalk it up to RC fail.Mce252 wrote:I could care less about Bobby Jindal but are you trying to say that states are not in a fiscal crisis right now? On another, non-political note, I'm excited for the fall. Has anyone who has heard back made their final decision yet? Also good luck to everyone still waiting on their decision, I hope y'all hear back sooner than later!

Re: South Texas 2011
The law school fear mongering is hilarious. I will say that the part-timers posits were correct...for her. Part timers generally take 3 class and work full time. They have it very tough and I feel for them. I couldn't imagine trying to balance a full time job and then come to class at night, then study AFTER class. So of course kiss your life good bye.
Now, if you are part timer status and you don't work and you STILL have allowed law school to consume your life, then you are dumb.
I can tell you from a full time student prospective that I don't do jack shit during the year. I attend class, maybe read here and there, take notes. At the end of the semester, I spend a week on each class up compiling notes into an outline and maybe doing a few practice exams. Now, I'm a graduating 3L so I have my method down pretty good.
As a 1L, it's going to be fucking tough. You'll read the material and have no idea wtf is going on. Don't sweat it, no one understands. Sure, there will be those 3 fuckers who raise their hands and want to discuss some nuanced part of some exception to criminal liability they found in some hornbook. Don't worry about them. Do you readings, brief a bit, take notes and review. You'll do fine. I had all the free time in the world the first half of the semester, things got busier the second half and during finals I didn't get to watch much tv. But it's not as bad as you think it will be.

It's really only informative and helpful if we know your class rank. Re: did your study habits translate to good grades/ job opportunities?

Just out of curiosity, why are people so concerned with the employment stats of today? I think we should be more forward thinking to what the economy will be like three years from now when it will actually apply to us who will be 1L's this fall.
Just my two cents. Admittedly those graduating in 2009 and 2010 had it rough but IMO - Three years from now we will either be totally out of this economical/employment slump, or the whole ship will sink and we are all screwed anyway. Either way it's better to be educated.

*hugs* the wait is killing me, too! I *wish* they would send out some acceptances on Easter, you know, because it's such a happy time. After all, they named the folder for the online status checker "happy.stcl" -- just sayin..that would be awesome, but they don't think like I do, lol!merc280 wrote:hate this wait. Though, they shouldn't send out rejections on Easter because that would just ruin Easter. Blegh!

yea, I wrote to ask, since the invite didn't have any details. It's business casual dress and they're feeding us.
I'll be there with bells on,
because my business is elfing.
OK, probably not my best material, but it's early. Cut me some slack.

Re: South Texas 2011
The "you're on the waiting list" e-mail advised that those who wanted to be removed from the list were to let the Admissions office know of that decision by April 21. Frankly, I thought that after that date passed, there would be a new round of admissions/denials. Instead, I've heard nothing, and I don't get the sense that there has been any movement at all.
Is anyone else out there similarly situated?
