So I should submit the NeedAccess form this weekend even if I have yet to be accepted? Will they reject me just because I am expecting financial aid?

You say that now, but if I get rejected there can be no other explanation except for this request for aid (at least in my mind).

Don't worry so much!!! I am sure this situation is totally familiar to them. Plus they would suck if they didn't let you in. :D

I'm not going to be accepted, but I feel like I should fill out the damn form just in case; however, I'm still waiting on one of my W-2s from last year (it was for a side job and will only be for a few thousand dollars, but it will change things slightly). It's pretty much bullshit for them to set a deadline for February 1 for this when W-2s don't even need to be sent out until January 31...

You can select an 'Estimated 1040(A/EZ)' to fill out the form. Nobody has their W-2's so everyone's should be an estimate. It's better to do an estimate now and update later to meet the deadline, and if you dont get accepted no big deal. I'm filling it out for all t14 schools (theres 9 of them total) which require this and I applied to.

This NEEDACCESS thing is ridiculous. It's so hard to fill out and "estimate"...

Is there an additional financial aid form other than FAFSA and NeedAccess? TIA

I've never heard of one besides the form Duke has you fill out, but maybe some other schools have their own in-house programs.

On the financial aid portions of U Chicago's website there are links to an application for loans, but it appears this is not due until May. All applicants are considered for merit-based scholarships without completing additional materials, and need-based grants are determined based on NeedAccess forms.

(Please correct me if I'm mistaken! I don't even know if I'll be accepted, but I'm trying to stay on top of financial aid stuff just in case.)

Has chicago reported an increase in apps this year? And what's their general volume - 5,000?

My status checker updated to today (1/28) after previous updates on 12/31 and 1/13. It looks as though I have a lot of company.

I wonder if they will notify tomorrow or wait until Monday.

I updated to 1/28 from 12/29. Thinking rejection...but who knows.

Just so people don't flip out all day long about this thread being bumped (even though I know that will happen anyway), I believe calls started going out around 2pm eastern last time.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
