Lol I know its a bit cliche (and mean), but it was the best possible response to his question. Anyone see the SNL bit last month where they made fun of that movie scene? Funny.

UR 1/25! Very excited (top choice and I had been stuck at RFR since 12/1)! Anyone else go under? Any idea what kind of turn-around I should expect? (I'm a borderline candidate, LSP has been at mid 50s)

I'm borderline as well and have been under review for just under 3 months. Don't expect anything to happen quickly.xcountryjunkie wrote:UR 1/25! Re: In at Duke!
You give me hope that they will actually look at my application!! I'm around the 65% on LSP, but have been stuck at RFR since 12/4. I'm starting to worry since according to last year's statistics, almost all acceptances for people who applied before 12/4 were given out before 2/1.xcountryjunkie wrote:UR 1/25! Boo, it's a super reach for me - I went UR 1/22, had been RFR since 11/30.dakatz wrote:I'm borderline as well and have been under review for just under 3 months. An increase in applications has caused a slow-down. I wouldn't worry about the 2/1 "deadline", this year that may be 2/15 or later.astro1819 wrote:You give me hope that they will actually look at my application!! Re: In at Duke!
Eh, maybe you will hear faster than me. My LSP has me at just under 40% chance, whereas you are about a coin toss. Plus, I am what some schools may consider a URM applicant so I think they tend to wait longer on most of those apps. Good luck, and I hope you hear back soon, because I wouldn't wish this 3 month wait on my worst enemy, xcountryjunkie wrote:dakatz wrote:I'm borderline as well and have been under review for just under 3 months. Well I hope they get things moving along. I don't want to be screwed over on scholarships because they don't look at my file for another 3 weeks.xcountryjunkie wrote:An increase in applications has caused a slow-down. Anyone think they will offer any more interview/binding-PT invites this cycle?

Applied PT and went UR on 1/15, so today marks day #10. Still waiting on a decision, but hopefully should get some news tomorrow.

Re: In at Duke!
So I gave in, because I can't decide what to do...I've got some acceptances from good schools, including a T10, but I really, really want to go to Duke now. I didn't write a separate Why Duke, because I wove some of that into the end of my PS (pretty general, though). Been UR for 2 months, and debating sending in a new essay with more Why Duke specifics. I'm in the Consider - Strong Consider category. Thoughts? Too desparate? Should I just ride it out? Thanks for any input...

It's not too desperate; I would write a LOCI. If you truly want to attend, tell them!

I'm in the same boat. I'm dead-set that I would go to Duke if accepted. Should I send a LOCI? Possibly mentioning that I'd be willing to do a binding-PT?
