hmmm I think it only went to minorities? not sure. it was sent by the head of diversity recruiting and was an invite to apply for a scholarship toward a law preview program over the summer.

Non-URM but I received it. I think it just takes awhile just like all of Duke's mass emails.

What have people's reactions been to their aid packages? I'm doing the scholarship interview this week, but I'm feeling kind of pessimistic after getting awarded zero aid (100% loans) from UVA last night. Also, if anyone's already tried negotiating with Duke, how did you go about it? Have you been successful? Or is it still too early to know yet?

It's been a mix of pleasant surprises and disappointment, but it's unlikely you won't get anything. over 80% of Duke students get a scholarship, which is MUCH higher than the rest of the T14.

Duke offers much more in scholarship as a % of students receiving it.

Responses so far have been mixed, and I'm going to offer pure conjecture as to why:

There are clearly defined tiers of scholarship offering based on LSN info, and those tiers have 15K between them. Some people probably somewhere between the two levels from a qualitative perspective, and so can either be pleasantly or disappointedly surprised by a number that is 7K higher or lower than they may have felt was fare.

I think in the grand scheme people seem OK with their amounts, there have been a few offensively low numbers given applicants stats, but on the whole it has been within an acceptable range if not exactly amazing

Mine was sent 2/28 and I got it 3/4 ($105,000 if anyone's wondering. 25<GPA<50, 75<LSAT)

Yep. Mine came 3/3 or 3/4 (I wasn't home so not sure). $114,000, at/around both 75ths.
