If you want me to track rejection waves I can do it. Give me sec to update the OPQueerdo wrote:Hugs to all the dings.
Are we going to track rejection waves as we do JS1s and 2s? I'm down for tracking those if Hilde isn't up for it, I can just edit this post as they come in and hilde can link to this page.

I don't plan on staying on any WLs except U Chicago so, should it happen anywhere, you all get +1 spot.

There's still tomorrow and Friday before "late January" is officially over! Also, early Feb is like pretty much basically essentially more or less the same thing!!Li'l Sebastian wrote:Oh my god. Seriously?

My condolences to everyone who got bad news today.
I was shocked to not get the hammer today (assuming hammer dropping is done for the day), since I was an early Nov. JS1 and hadn't heard anything. Are there any other Nov. JS1s still sitting out there waiting?

How many JS1 waves are there typically? Looks like there have been 15 already for c/o 2019. Does someone have an idea of historicals?

Also an early Nov JS1 who is still waiting. It looks like they haven't dinged anyone with JS1s yet though. Still holding out hope for a JS2 wave here soonfliptrip wrote:Nice to know we aren't alone...lolDcc617 wrote:November 6th, and nothing.fliptrip wrote:My condolences to everyone who got bad news today.

When I say my prayers for a JS2 I always take heart in the fact that QC is still waiting too. Do you have to have at least a JS1 to be placed on the waitlist?
I have a few friends who received JS1s off the waitlist in the last few years, including one current 2L who was admitted literally days before giving up and committing to Penn.

Must be a Harvard thing; a friend of mine got off the Harvard undergrad waitlist in late July or August - she was already at pre-season camp for nordic skiing at a NESCAC school and they called her mid-workout... I guess when Harvard calls, you don't say no...cantorb wrote:+1oliverotis wrote:TITCRschocolate wrote:I think you can get JS1s off the waitlist as well.TheKisSquared wrote:So you *can* be admitted without interviewing. Re: Harvard C/O 2019 Applicants
Here's my draft of an FAQ. Feel free to propose additional questions or edits to the answers:
FAQ (read this first!)
FAQ (read this first!)
- What are my chances with X LSAT and Y GPA? Go here http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/admissions/search/
- Any specific question about timing given a particular score or submission date. Make a copy of this spreadsheet and explore! Or check out http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/timeline/graph/
- How will my status checker change? Those who submit complete applications typically see their status checker go to complete within two to three weeks. After that it will remain at "Application Complete" until your decision. If you receive a ding (sorry!), you may see it say "Decision Rendered" before you receive the email.
- How will I be notified of my decision? If you live in the United States and are accepted, you will receive a phone call from area code 617. International admits, all dings, and all waitlists receive emails. JS1's invites are also emailed.
- Do all admits go through a JS1? Yes. You must go through a JS1 to be admitted. Some folks are put directly on the waitlist without receiving a JS1, but if they are admitted off the waitlist, they will eventually interview.
- What's the JS1 like? Generally pretty chill. Be prepared to discuss your resume, have a "Why Harvard" and "Why law" answer, and think of a few questions to ask your interviewer. See below for more details.
- Should I suit up for the JS1? If you'd like. Generally, a shirt and tie for men or a conservative blouse or cardigan for women are sufficient.
- Should I send a thank you after my JS1? Nope, no need. Consensus is the AdComs have so much going on, there's no expectation for one. If you REALLY want to send one, send it to the main email.
- When do waitlists go out? Late March and early April
- I haven't heard a peep from Cambridge in a long time. Should I begin despairing? No! While your chances of being admitted do decrease over time, it's not over until your email delivers the ding!
- I just got a JS1 or JS2! I'm so excited! What do I do now? Celebrate! And then make sure your stats and decision are in this spreadsheet so the rest of us can learn from your success. Congrats! You made it!

If you're asking what should girls wear (if they don't want to go full suit) then I'd just say "a conservative blouse or cardigan"mdnyc wrote:Here's my draft of an FAQ. Feel free to propose additional questions or edits to the answers:
