Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I just got off the phone with a former Admissions Consultant working with LSATMax he's charging 600-650 for PS editing or PS brain storming + editing. Just FYI, in case anyone is interested. I can PM you his number if your interested.
Also, I applied + got accepted to a few lawschools in the UK 3 yrs ago, I even applied for scholarships and all that jazz. I used all of my academic recommendations for that. I am 100% ashamed to go ask them for new recommendations.

I am not so sure that you need to ask them all. In fact I'd probably keep them and get an employer one (assuming you've been working since then).sashafierce wrote:I just got off the phone with a former Admissions Consultant working with LSATMax he's charging 600-650 for PS editing or PS brain storming + editing. Oh dear, just emailed my University to see why they still haven't sent my transcript despite requesting it six weeks ago. Apparently the request is on hold because I have overdue library fines from three years back, and I have no way of paying them because I dont live in the country. FML

If you had financial holds I'm surprised they let you walk the stage at graduation. Most students will know by then if they owe money because schools tend to not give diplomas until the bill is settled. They didn't do this at your school or was it a delayed charge? I hope at least the fines aren't still compounding.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
An acquaintance of mine supposedly still has a $1200 fine & transcript hold although she walked at graduation bc her books were due after graduation. She must have checked them out for a final paper and then never turned them back in however many weeks afterwards. But it doesn't make sense that they are that high, unless the books were illuminated manuscripts or something.RCSOB657 wrote:If you had financial holds I'm surprised they let you walk the stage at graduation. I used an editor found at essayedge.com (or something like that) who has helped with hundreds of LS PS's. Cost was about $150, and very good work.

This might be a stupid question (it probably is), but how long does it take for a LOR to show up on LSAC once the recommender uploads it electronically?

No, that's a good question. My recommender uploaded one on a Friday morning and it was reflected on my LSAC account that evening. But the email that LSAC sends you has a 24-48 hour delay, so check your LSAC page first.YeezusPiece wrote:This might be a stupid question (it probably is), but how long does it take for a LOR to show up on LSAC once the recommender uploads it electronically?

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Thanks a lot sasha, it's the UK though so no luck there. It should be ok, I've emailed to explain the situation. It was only a couple of pounds! They do technically stop you from graduating if you have fines, but graduating works a bit differently there. Lots of people don't "graduate" until many years after they've completed their degree.sashafierce wrote:Oh no, what country? Fingers crossed I can get the transcript in early enough to get it processed on time.
Edit: Is anyone else too scared about LSAT results to write their personal statement?

I kind of feel this way, not because I'm scared about my LSAT results, but bc I don't know which schools I'll be applying to. A stupid reason, I know, since the prompt for the PS is the same for pretty much every school. I decided I'm going to force myself to write it starting on Monday.alloverthat wrote:Is anyone else too scared about LSAT results to write their personal statement?

The worst part for me was just thinking about it. Once I got down to writing I found the words were pretty fluid. I also have a generic statement and Why X essays to send to schools I'm especially interested in.YeezusPiece wrote:I kind of feel this way, not because I'm scared about my LSAT results, but bc I don't know which schools I'll be applying to. do you guys know if we're supposed to put our LSAC GPA or our actual undergrad GPA on the application on LSAC (under the Education section)?

I put my degree GPA. my LSDAS GPA wouldn't be accurate to put for any given school since for me it's made up of more than one institution.dasani13 wrote:do you guys know if we're supposed to put our LSAC GPA or our actual undergrad GPA on the application on LSAC (under the Education section)?

So how many schools are you all applying to? I'm thinking I'll apply to 11 schools, maybe more, maybe less depending on my LSAT score.

I think I'm near 16 at this point. Those fee waivers come in handy.YeezusPiece wrote:So how many schools are you all applying to? I'm thinking I'll apply to 11 schools, maybe more, maybe less depending on my LSAT score.
