Ha hey now, it's not over till it's over! I was thinking the exact same thing until I got the email. Definitely still spots left!Alassio wrote:first off, congratulations!!laxgal08 wrote:Just got the email today! Applied in early January and had pretty much given up hope. Best of luck to everyone still waiting for a decision!
but whyyyyyy must you keep giving me hope when really there is none left?!
I've been wanting YLS for years, and now that I know I am almost 100% headed for WL/ding, it's so sad![]()

This remains my favorite post of the past few days. Public shaming Asha into giving us our decisionstest wrote: At best they are so in a bubble that they don't realize what this process looks like at this point from the outside. At worst they are being malicious. I say its somewhere in between.

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
They don't like talking to applicants during admissions. It adds to their sense of being "exclusive". That being said, it pretty easy to figre out the general timeline. WL is the last thing and its almost always between the 15-20th of april. So today was wrapping up admits (maybe a few more next few days), a reject wave maybe at the end of this week/beginning of next, then WL sometimes next week.ladyberry wrote:does anybody have any clue whats actually going on? ie, has anybody spoken with anybody from yls admissions re process/timeline today, etc?

If we went complete in late-March and haven't heard yet, have we been passed over?

Do you think schools ever freak out about top admitted students like we do? "We accepted Ms. X with a 178/3.94 in December and then radio silence! Why doesn't she just deposit or withdraw, it's cruel to make us wait this long..."

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
perhaps this is an overly micro-level of detail, but for those who submitted on 3/4 and heard news today, what time of day on 3/4 did you submit?

Re: Yale c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I applied through quantum time - my application was submitted every moment of every day, and I was up for all possible outcomes, but every time the admissions committee sat down to examine my file, it disappeared. And so while in all other universes I had an infinite number of outcomes, in this one, I could only be dinged.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
