What's the SLS policy for submitting additional letters of recommendation? I am a September complete and am looking to write an LOCI. I only have a few minor things to update, and I was thinking of submitting an additional letter through LSAC. Thoughts?

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Its hard for me to imagine a situation where a new LOR is appropriate before there's any action taken on their part. This is assuming you sent the maximum # of LORs with your application. A LOCI is one thing (full disclosure: I sent one last week), but if they were willing to get more letters, they wouldn't have the cap where it is. Deal mentioned that LOCIs were fine (encouraged even), but a new LOR seems to be too much.RSterling wrote:What's the SLS policy for submitting additional letters of recommendation? I actually only originally sent 2 of the 4 maximum. So I guess a third one might not hurt. It's already written; I just didn't submit it to stanford because it wasn't targeted.txdude45 wrote:Its hard for me to imagine a situation where a new LOR is appropriate before there's any action taken on their part. In that case, I'd send it. I'm no expert though.RSterling wrote:I actually only originally sent 2 of the 4 maximum. So I guess a third one might not hurt. It's already written; I just didn't submit it to stanford because it wasn't targeted.

Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Anyone have any stats about how likely it is to get off the waitlist at Stanford? It seems likelier and likelier everyday that I'm headed toward the WL... I'm down to ride it out since I want to attend so badly but I also don't want to count my chickens before they hatch.

ETA: It's working now, and no lowercase conversion. So I guess I'm safe... for now.
