Agreed. I think it's pretty cool though, it's a refreshing contrast to the rage quitting "you suck and I would have never gone to your crappy school anyway" type responses that a lot of people around here get when their Pokemon approach to applying to the T14 gets thwarted by a waitlist.TripTrip wrote:That is some dedication.husker2012 wrote:In off of Priority Reserve!!! Thanks BigZuck! When I met with the Dean of Admissions he let me know that they want to be contacted very 3-4 weeks if you are on the PR list since they are constantly reviewing those applications, so I really felt like I was just doing what they wanted. If anybody has any other questions or anything shoot me a PM.BigZuck wrote:Agreed. Re: Duke c/o 2016 Applicants Thread (2012-2013 Cycle)
I sent a LOCI in late February and then an app update on March 9, then was put on PR less than a week after with a 4.06/172. What more should I do to express interest? Do they want weekly emails from me? Another LOCI this quickly after the last feels silly. Should I do it anyways?letsjustsee wrote:I can second that PR is (thankfully!) not a death sentence:
Under review, non-priority track, early December;
Priority Reserve late February;
Sent a LOCI beginning of March;
ADMITTED yesterday, no interview.
Also, from briefly perusing last year's thread, coming off PR does not seem to impact one's chances for competitive scholarships. Just thought I would share for anyone else on PR. Good luck!

if you really want Duke, go visit & sit in on a class.. Then you could have something additional to add in a LOCI.

Given the details you've posted, and the well-established fact that adcomms frequent TLS, there is a real possibility you have outted yourself at Duke.MAHamlin wrote:

I don't see how posting about whether or not to send a second LOCI is going to look bad in the eyes of a Duke adcom. If anything, it shows his interest in the school which will help not hurt him.drive4showLSAT4dough wrote:Given the details you've posted, and the well-established fact that adcomms frequent TLS, there is a real possibility you have outted yourself at Duke.MAHamlin wrote:

+1 I wont say anything on this site that I wouldn't be comfortable with an adcom reading. Furthermore, my TLS user name will out me at any school spends a few seconds researching it.Rlabo wrote:I don't see how posting about whether or not to send a second LOCI is going to look bad in the eyes of a Duke adcom. I often wish this was the mindset of some other users.

I made the original point because most TLS users, including myself, do not always adhere to the boldedMAHamlin wrote: +1 I wont say anything on this site that I wouldn't be comfortable with an adcom reading. Just checked my status checker, and my scholarship decision was sent out on the 15th. How long does it take for mail to reach the West Coast? :/

For the loci, are you guys writing a full out essay/letter or just a quick email stating your intentions to still want to attend Duke?

I'm still waiting on a response from Duke but would very much so like to attend. Is it better to write a preemptive LOCI at this point? Or just keep waiting?

Is UR2 explicitly referenced in the status checker? My "File Under Review" status was updated on 3/19 but other than the change in "Current Status" everything else seems to be unchanged.
