That Berkeley letter is no "nicer" or "warmer" than almost any other school's rejection letter. Boiler-plate stuff.

Reverse splitter here... Applied 1/30 (Prof's in my non-traditional law major just don't understand what rolling means.) and UR 2/4. Maybe this is the obvious observation, but looks like a lot of the dings today have been traditional splitters.

Another reverse splitter here. 3.9, 162, fairly strong softs (at least i hope), non-urm, no FR, still sitting at UR as of 11/5. after miraculously surviving today's bloodbath, is it safe to expect to go FR2 in the next couple weeks?

i think most, if not all, of the dings in the bloodbath today went out morning to mid-day PST.

I applied early January and I am so surprised they didn't reject me today. What is going on here.jmorrisumn wrote:Reverse splitter here... It was probably because of that enthralling thread you started a few weeks backcbarlow1016 wrote:I applied early January and I am so surprised they didn't reject me today. Because I go here and I know all the people on Faculty Review.BigZuck wrote:Bodies, do you have actual evidence that your LOCI helped you get accepted? Like, did Dean Z tell you or something. I get that you submitted on and got in, but why does that signal that it definitely helped? Correlation does not necessarily mean causation.
Kronk- evidence for your assertion. He offered up an anecdote and your response essentially boils down to "lolno." I am amenable to what you are saying but you need to do better than "no he's wrong and I am right." Again, provide evidence.

Or the fact that I've worked for Berkeley for 1.5 years, but yeah, thanks for the insightManOfTheMinute wrote:It was probably because of that enthralling thread you started a few weeks backcbarlow1016 wrote:I applied early January and I am so surprised they didn't reject me today. So last year, LSN shows mixture of dings and accepts on the same dates. This year it shows all dings or accepts (generally). Whats up with this?
Are they whittling down the UR no FR group? Or is something else going on?

Sorry to hear that :/ And idk I saw on LSN some January apps that were rejected today. Just assumed I was an auto reject that'd be rejected asap.bettercallsaul91 wrote:I applied November 3 and was rejected today. I also applied in early January (UR 1/15) and wasn't dinged today. As a splitter I fully expect to get rejected from Berkeley. I just hope I hear back from a few more schools before Berkeley gets to me to because I'm gonna need a few good acceptance letters to wipe my tears with. Berkeley is my dream school.

I'm non-FR and still standing.....been UR since 11/13, and absolutely no action since.WhiteyCakes wrote:BigZuck wrote:Any non- FR people still standing? Moneyball? Whitey are you FR or just UR?
Anyone have any guesses as to what this means? FR2 seems to be the consensus, no?

Re: Berkeley c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Also, just in general for all those who have been debating LOCI's........I just looking at the email they sent me when my app went UR and happened to notice the line "Given the large number of applications we receive, we request that you refrain from contacting us unless the matter is urgent." Needless to say, an LOCI when your application is still UR or FR is nowhere near urgent, so I'd hold off on those. I doubt any member of the admissions committee would reject someone simply because an LOCI pissed them off, but it doesn't sound like it'd help any either.

From last years thread looks like there were several more rejections. Some acceptances. Some FR. I'm wondering the breakdown/likelihood of each option.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
