Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Do I need to submit anything extra for financial aid?
Also on the status checker I'm still processing and they haven't checked off personal statement, transcript, or letter of recommendation. Only thing that is checked is Application Fee...but I sent in everything. So am I alright?

it's kind of unbelievable how slow they are... i wonder if they do this in order to hear back from the withdrawing students before making decisions...

Yeah, the slowness is unbelievable. I've already received half of my decisions, and while I really want to hear from Cornell, who knows if I'll hear before I have to put in a deposit somewhere.justhoping wrote:it's kind of unbelievable how slow they are... i wonder if they do this in order to hear back from the withdrawing students before making decisions...

I imagine this likely has a lot to do with it.justhoping wrote:it's kind of unbelievable how slow they are... i wonder if they do this in order to hear back from the withdrawing students before making decisions...

I think its both. Their apps doubled last year I think so they are probably adjusting but also trying to avoid having to review people who will withdraw earlier.FiveSermon wrote:I doubt it. Also, FS, you should be fine. They likely don't check off those boxes until you are complete. I sent in everything in mid-Dec and am in the same position as you.

Perhaps its all the snow. The roof at admissions caved in - like the Metrodome in MN - and all our files have been destroyed...

It's kind of comical how long it has taken. If I didn't really want to go to Cornell, I'd probably give up. (not as ridiculous for me because I've been processing for only 2 weeks, but still!) Kudos to those who are sticking with it

Random-admit: five-sided coin/die, whoever rolls a 1 gets in. Should get about 20%, their acceptance rate. But then a lot more than average would matriculate 'cause a way too many reaches would get in. So the die would have to have more than five sides...

Finally got the binder. Once again blown away by Cornell's materials. Seriously boosting their stock. Need to get my fin. aid materials out, asap.

Same dates for me! Had to chuckle at the e-mail.maglialoro wrote:rs2004 wrote:file complete today, i only applied in november.
My app just went complete as well. I went from processing 11/23, 1/5 and now complete 1/19. Will it take another 2 months before final decision?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
