I don't think that "complete 1/19" has anything to do with decisions unless it takes 16+ days to get a letter out to a neighboring state.

Re: Emory 2010
i respectfully disagree....i went complete on 1/19 as well and then was sent an email a couple days letter for me to clarify a part of my application. I called a few days after that, about a week ago, to check and they said that my decision has been made and was sent out...i still haven't received my decision in the mail.lawduder wrote:I don't think that "complete 1/19" has anything to do with decisions unless it takes 16+ days to get a letter out to a neighboring state.

Did they say that the decision was an acceptance? I see your profile lists emory as an acceptance.BearTerritory wrote:i respectfully disagree....i went complete on 1/19 as well and then was sent an email a couple days letter for me to clarify a part of my application. What? If they asked you to clarify part of your application after the 19th, then they hadn't made a decision yet...?BearTerritory wrote:i respectfully disagree....i went complete on 1/19 as well and then was sent an email a couple days letter for me to clarify a part of my application. Hopefully Emory will start letting some people in below their median GPA. They gotta bite the bullet some time, and it seems the current trend is not accepting anyone yet under a 3.6...

Re: Emory 2010
Sorry if my message seemed incomplete...I wrote it in a rush. What happened is my status went complete on the 19th and I was asked a few days later to clarify a part of my application and that it would be put on hold until it was clarified. I called a few days later to see if my application had been taken off hold and the person responded "yes". I then asked if a decision had been made and the person said "yes". Then I honestly said that I would be going out of town on business for a few weeks (which is where I am right now) and would not be able to check my mail. The person said something along the lines of you shouldn't be worried....so I guess I jumped the gun on the "yes" on Emory thing on my profile because it is up there among my top choices - especially with a scholarship. Point of the story is I went complete on the 19th and a decision has been made. Good luck to everyone!

BearTerritory -- Hope you're right. I've been checking my mailbox everyday. I'm starting to think my mailman is withholding mail from me...

That´s what I saw on LSN. Seems like a huge scholarship given Emory´s ranking and my numbers, but maybe it is true that they are trying to buy their way up the USNWR ladder. I can only hope.gobucks101 wrote:That was fetching the 96k ones last year. Best of luck.lawschooliseasy wrote:I would like few things in the world as much to go to Emory with a fattie scholly. Good Friday Morning, Emory Adcomm:
Please sing this ditty to the tune of a famous Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson composition:
Emory for my JD
Would work together in perfect harmony
Side by side my ambitions
Adcomm, won't you
Please admit me?
Thank you, and have a great weekend.
Best,
Funky JD

I also noticed this. It makes me worried for splitters this year.bakiewakies wrote:Hopefully Emory will start letting some people in below their median GPA. They gotta bite the bullet some time, and it seems the current trend is not accepting anyone yet under a 3.6...

For anybody complete as of 1/19, how long did it take for you to receive a decision if you've received one?

Just found an acceptance in my mailbox! Postmarked 2/1. Super surprised as never received an application complete email. Submitted third week in January.
Love the handwritten note from the Dean.

I sent my apps on jan 28, complete email on jan 29, got the letter today (feb 5)! The turn around was so quick, it gave my head a spin. And yes the note from the dean was icing on the cake.

Oh sweet 8lb. 6 oz. baby Jesus, I got a complete email Jan 29 as well. I am now filled with a likely fruitless but seductive hope.

Do we know when scholarships started to go out to people last year? Emory's website says March, but do they start earlier?lawschooliseasy wrote:That´s what I saw on LSN. Re: Emory 2010
I received mine last year in early March. Came in a small white envelope, similar to the ones that you are probably receiving from school Deans or alumni about why you should choose their respective schools.

Giant package in the mail! Accepted at Emory, and with a handwritten note about my PS! I only went complete a week ago, so I'm shocked...in a good way! First T20 acceptance. Now to wait for scholarship info

Re: Emory 2010
I went complete on 1/19 at Emory and haven't heard back with pretty close to auto-admitish numbers (177 and 3.6). So I'm hoping they are just taking their time and that there isn't anything wrong with my application.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
