Me too--before today I was in review 12/17. At this point I feel like CK's decision is totally moot. I've already heard back from a lot of other schools and started the process of making my decision.sapp wrote:After 12 weeks of being "in review" there was finally a change in my status!!

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I'm not at that point yet, but am rapidly approaching it myself. If I don't hear back from them before my seat deposit checks are cut, it won't matter.meddlingkid wrote:Me too--before today I was in review 12/17. Exact same date and I've also started the decision making process already. It's a shame too, I really like Chicago.

PT app status updated 3/11 to:
Current Status: Application Complete - In Review
Current Status Date: 3/11/2010
This is the second "in review" status date on the online status check, roughly one month apart. REALLY hoping for an acceptance...

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
It's a rather relative "soon". For me, at least, it took 7 days to receive the physical admissions mailing.fl0w wrote:In via email from dean today while I was on my flight home from business travel! Said I will get something from admissions soon.
In via status checker - 2/5
Dean's email - 2/6
Date admissions mailing postmarked - 2/8
Mailing arrived - 2/12

My status changed to deferred. I assume this is Kent's version of a WL?

Your assumption is correct. I still have not heard a peep from them. Receipt of app confirmed back in Dec. Not a peep since.m1stert1m wrote:My status changed to deferred. I assume this is Kent's version of a WL?

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I am also "in review" at C-K. But I submitted my application a lot later than you, in the middle of February, so I can't really complain. The same goes for other schools.sapp wrote:After 12 weeks of being "in review" there was finally a change in my status!!
I am now "in review" with a new date.
Needless to say, I am beyond estatic at the quick progress C-K has made with my application.
I'd really, really like to hear something from more of them, but some of them haven't even acknowledged my application is complete. Your story isn't making me feel like I am going to hear something soon. Only one school has made a decision and informed me of it, and that was a rejection, but I might consider this a good sign. As Washington & Lee says, unless a decision has been reached, I am still being considered. If I hear back quickly from any of them, except for perhaps Hofstra, which is probably my easiest school (all relative, of course), it'd almost certainly be a rejection. I imagine this is particularly true since I am not by any means a surefire thing at any of the schools.

I went in review 5 days after applying in early March, kinda shocked by that.

CK really seemed to take a long time. I applied on 16-Jan-10, received 26-Jan-10, complete/in review 26-Jan-10, and decision on 12-Mar-10. I haven't received the packet yet. They are my last hope for a scholarship that makes a chicago school affordable for me, lol.

Total and utter baloney. It's driving me crazy. How am I supposed to make a final decision on Loyola and DePaul by April 15 if I haven't heard back from Kent?raskolnikov32 wrote:I wonder if they're taking so long because they made a deal with DePaul and Loyola for a percentage of their seat deposits?
This is bologna.

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I'm still in review as well. In-review changed date changed to Mar-11. I keep checking it...compulsively. It's a sickness now. I know I have no real shot of getting in, it is a real reach, but clicking that log in on all my schools has become my only action and goal. Break at work...check all schools. Go home, need to cook dinner, must check status first!!!

More reason not to take Kent's current offer..get a better LSAT score...and try again next year. Are you a URM?guinness85 wrote:Got an accept letter two weeks ago (sorry for the late update). Full tuition scholarship. 165ish/3.7ish.

I have already taken the LSAT too many times. Not URM, per se, but very "diverse".PlugInBaby wrote:More reason not to take Kent's current offer..get a better LSAT score...and try again next year. I have the same days (IR 12/17, IR 3/11), but no deferral yet (just checked my status and no new e-mails). I honestly just want a decision, even if it's a rejection because Chi-Kent is so gone off my radar it isn't even funny.sapp wrote:In review 12/17

tbh, I wouldn’t have attended C-K w/o at least a little $. And after being deferred I saw that as unlikely. I’m just about to the point in my decision making process that something has to be very persuasive to take me off course, and a deferred decision at c-k was not it.

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
My status check went to In Review again on 02/16 after it was first changed to that in the first week of Jan.
Now I just want a response from them by the end of March, cuz I don't have lots of $ to pay for those damned first deposit.
20 years from now, let's sue these damned law schools who don't give us a decision before other schools' first deposit!!! They are robbing us just in another way!!! LOL
