My second theory is that the Columbia admissions office staff have been slipped estrogen pills for the last two weeks, and have confused the application cycle with the menstrual cycle and just want us to know everything is going according to plan.

Either that, or they sense that we think they're clogged up, and thus want to assure us that the bowel-movement-esque admissions cycle is regular.

Here's another one: It's not a cycle but a system. As in the digestive system. Columbia takes your app, either uses you (if you're good) in their student body, and if you're not good, you get em... disposed of (think large intestine). In this case, regular would mean we're all about to be in a Morningside Heights toilet bowl.

K, not to cause panic for anyone or anything... but I applied ED and on my application status page it clearly says "Early Decision" under my 3rd LOR. Next to it is a little box with a check through it.

Nowhere on my page does the word "Regular" appear.

The only thing I can think of for those of you who applied ED and have "Regular" is that they have not yet received your paper copy of the ED contract.

If you applied ED however, it should say "Early Decision." Hope that clears things up.

The "regular" thing may refer to a general letter as opposed to a "targeted" letter, as sent through LSDAS.

nope, all of mine were general letters and it says Early Decision.

Mine says Regular too (hopefully not in reference to bowel movements, but thanks for that)

So I guess I can stop checking that status checker.

yup, you can now proceed to obsessively checking your email, since they will sent a pdf of your acceptance letter before you get the snail mail package.

I'm interested as well. I've been complete for several days now, but no mention of "Early Decision" under my LORs. Then again, I'm not seeing the word "regular" on there either...
