Not yet. Seems like most of Harvard's emails go out 3:30-4:30 ET though, so maybe still to come?boston101 wrote:anybody hear todayyy?

I'm going to predict that the majority of the waitlist action is going to be over the summer this year. I feel like the dynamics of this cycle have pushed decision making back significantly. That said, I'm more than happy to hope for a 3:30 surprise today.

Thats what I thought when I got my WL. But, then last week was so active. I guess we're back to a stall...well if nothing comes out my 5. We gotta keep hope alive though!zipzoop wrote:I'm going to predict that the majority of the waitlist action is going to be over the summer this year. Probably true. I think June is where I'll start being less hopeful and officially preparing hardcore for where I'm going.zipzoop wrote:I'm going to predict that the majority of the waitlist action is going to be over the summer this year. Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
IS anyone sending additional materials?
Nothing really new has happened for me short of graduation and they already have an updated transcript.
Should I find someone to do an LOR for me or is it too late at this point?? Did you guys send LOCI, esp people who got off waitlist, did you send any new stuff?

I held back because the email didnt seem to welcome a LOCI and I realized that they already know 99% of people that stay on the waitlist will drop anything to go there.
So, just waiting. If I dont get any news this week, I think its pretty clear that HLS wont be calling. But, Im happy with the school I have deposited at, so its cool.

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
fwiw, I sent in a brief loci just saying i'm still interested (i sent a longer loci and addition LOR after deferral). essentially this time i said that i recognize a confirmation of my interest is not required per the e-mail, but your school is so awesome i'm going to tell you anyways...

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
After the defer-notification, I sent in a specific "why harvard" talking about certain clinics that i really want to partake in, also sent an additional recommendation from a professor, and an updated resume.
After the WL-notification, I sent another LOCI, detailing my specific interest in the Boston area... accepted 2 weeks after this

I wish. I'm starting to prepare for the inevitable. While I think we might see another wave eventually, I have no idea when that will be.

Deadline wise, the only thing I can think of is that June 15th is when LSAC notifies schools of students who have put down multiple seat deposits.

FWIW Toby hasn't updated his blog in a week. He typically posts every couple of days. So I'm hoping that means he took a vacatioon last week and this week we will see some type of movement.

It's almost comical how much we overanalyze this.

I sure hope he's take a vacation. Can you imagine having to review 8000+ applications? Yikes!

Re: Harvard Waitlist Statistics
Not to be a killjoy pessimist, but I think hopes of a vacation are pretty tenuous. I would hypothesize that the true explanation is that the waitlisted candidates are divided into two groups - the "we'll take them and MAKE space for them if need be" candidates (i.e., the people who heard a few weeks ago) and the "real waitlist" candidates.
Obviously, group 1 was contacted already. The rest of us will probably have to wait until early June, when CLS and SLS start pulling from their waitlist. There's no reason for HLS to bloat its accepted list until its competitor institutions are starting to move. Just my $[(200*0.50)-99.98].
