Is a switch from UR to UR2 a necessary part of being a step closer to being admitted? I'm on day 9 and it still says "Under Review." Is that anything worth reading into?

it won't actually say "UR2," but the "current status date" on the tracker changes at some point (for most people, at least). this is what people are referring to as the date they went "UR2," even though the status still says "under review."

this ^

and when that happens, it means you'll probably get a decision soon.

I just checked my e-mails and I received a PT for last cycle in January. I had no intentions of applying last cycle, should I send them an e-mail? Damn I wish I would have noticed it when I got it, it came a few days after I got my LSAT score lol

Today was my day 10. I received the email just a while ago around 2 pm CST. I was offered a spot on their priority reserve list. Duke is a reach school of mine so I'm okay with that. Better than a flat out rejection.

admitted today via email...today was day 9 for me. 75th% < LSAT/GPA...weird that they would admit on a Saturday. Looking forward to interviewing for scholarship!

Anybody know what the scholarship application entails? I can't find any details other than it will be in dec. And includes an optional interview.

Is there an essay or something? Does anyone know what it was like last year?

"Which types of scholarship would you like to be considered for?

__ Merit-Based ONLY: This is for individuals who wish to not be considered for need-based aid due to great personal or familial financial circumstances.

__ Merit-Based AND Need-Based: Most individuals should select this option. Selecting this option does not bar you from receiving full merit-based scholarship consideration (ie. Mordecai) and is only indicating that the applicant wishes for us to also consider personal and familial financial circumstances when offering our complete scholarship package."

or something like that.

So I didn't know that you were supposed to register for the priority track after receiving the invitation email. I assumed that it would be an automatic process and didn't fill out the registration form until an hour after I sent in my completed application. Do you think I will still be reviewed under PT?

My confirmation email:

Your application became complete on 09/07/2016 and is being considered under our Priority Track review process. This program guarantees that you will receive a response within ten days of completing your file. If you have not already done so, please complete the Priority Track online registration form at https://law.duke.edu/prioritytrack as soon as possible.

looks like you should be good as long as you register for it quickly

Non-PT applicant, moved to what I think is UR2 today (under review status date changed). Anyone know when I should expect a decision? I know it obviously follows pretty quickly for PT applicants, but I'm not sure if if non-PT applicants are also close to getting a decision after moving to UR2.

Similar situation here. A regular applicant and was moved to UR1 today (applied 9/13). I hope we'll get a decision soon!

Good luck!

For what it's worth, I did some digging on last year's thread and it looked like most non-PT applicants who went to UR2 got a decision pretty quickly afterwards. I didn't see any instances of that happening until November though, so it'll be interesting to see if they're moving quicker for non-PT this cycle, or if I'll be stuck on UR2 for awhile.
