that's my hope. clearly none of our scores were so repulsive given we made the WL...madcow wrote:Lurker here just checking in.
I was wondering how much LSAT/GPA matter in the waitlist. Would other factors such as work experience, background, and other soft qualities matter more now?

If numbers are still super important, then I have no shot with my LSATmadcow wrote:Lurker here just checking in.

If I don't get an interview with the first wave of JS1s, I'll probably take it as being dinged!OtterLaw wrote:If numbers are still super important, then I have no shot with my LSATmadcow wrote:Lurker here just checking in.

I tend to think that numbers matter in a few senses:scubasteve12 wrote:that's my hope. clearly none of our scores were so repulsive given we made the WL...madcow wrote:Lurker here just checking in.

1. They are going to try to up their medians
2. When a spot opens up they may try to fill it with an applicant with a similar profile to the one that withdrew
However, they are going to consider some softs to keep the class diverse. Numbers may be less important in that regard.

Does anyone know if previous years' wait list emails included the words "late May" too? Could they be waiting longer to make decisions this year?

It looks like last year's waitlist emails also said "late May", but that interview requests actually went out much earlier.

Could someone with access possibly check to see if any interview slots have been created since yesterday?

Just checked last year's thread again; they both opened slots and sent out first JS1s the same day (a year back from yesterday). I don't have my hopes up for any movement for today.Generally wrote:So slots would be open if today was the day right? #JSnever

same boat dude, NYU but nothing else. Guess I'll either see you in Harvard (godbless) or TorontoDickensian wrote:I'm Canadian. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm definitely going to pick U of T over NYU -- there's no way the much higher price of NYU would be worth it for me, given a) that U of T Law is already a fantastic school and b) that I'm uninterested in working in the States.moyansyq wrote:Checking in. Waitlisted early April which was pleasantly surprising since my LSAT score was just meh. Waiting for my paper (under review) to publish so I have enough cause to send them that LOCI.
Side note: any Canadians here? If dinged from Harvard and didn't get into YS, is it better to go to a T14 or just stay in Canada?

Speaking for myself, while rationally yes HLS and NYU are similar (expensive good state schools), HLS is HARVARD and that makes it magical and stripped me of the ability to make rational decisions.jbagelboy wrote:just curious, but if you're uninterested in working in the states, what's the difference between harvard and NYU? why would you choose one over UToronto but not the other? If someone has access to interview slots I think checking to see if any have opened up would give us a good idea.madcow wrote:anyone know if there will be movement today?
