Got much, much better scholarships (full and 2/3) from several other Midwestern schools. I expect a lot of other people here did as well. I guess OSU wants to cut down on class size; I can't even consider $48k.

It's a full ride only for in-state applicants. If you are an out-of-state applicant, could you have both of them?lawyer99 wrote:I think you're confusing Academic Merit scholarships with the Moritz Merit Scholarship. I received an Academic Merit Scholarship and in the email it says it does not preclude me from the Moritz Merit Scholarship. That means that there is still a possibility I could receive the Moritz Merit Scholarship if I get chosen for one... but then I wouldn't get to have both because the Moritz Merit is a full ride.Mary4404 wrote:lawyer99 wrote:I'm pretty sure you can only get one scholarship... so if you get an Academic Merit scholarship you will not receive any other kind of scholarship (leadership, public service, etc.). If you happen to get another kind please keep us updated.CoachW wrote:Would anyone happen to know if the decisions on the other scholarships (leadership, public service) would be coming in a separate email? Just wondering because I have received much better offers from T20 schools, and as much as I would really like to go to OSU their offer is slightly insulting.
I haven't received my scholarship award yet, but I did receive an email today about the Academic Merit Scholarship today and they stated that I may receive other scholarships along with the merit scholarship if chosen.

Got $16k/year. That's not much scholarship compared to my other offers, to say the least. I withdrew just now. Good luck everyone else.

I think this thread will explode if someone gets a bigger offer that's not the Moritz...fliptrip wrote:Got $16k/year. That's not much scholarship compared to my other offers, to say the least. I withdrew just now. Good luck everyone else.

I don't think you could have both. It's really easy to become a resident after the first year, thus you would have in-state tuition for your second and third year.yenisey wrote:lawyer99 wrote:Mary4404 wrote:lawyer99 wrote:CoachW wrote:Would anyone

But I'm an international applicant. Sounds improbable to sit on in-state tuition, whatever the year.lawyer99 wrote:I don't think you could have both. Status checker still says under review, but they mailed me a "2016 Viewbook" on Monday?
Is that just trying to tide me over while they continue to drag on with their admissions process? OR is there HIDDEN MEANING? Will it arrive with a letter?!

I applied last year and they sent me a viewbook and I wasn't granted admission. They send that to everyone.

Scholarship 14K, Access Award 7.5K, totaling 21.5K, now about 7K away from full ride.

Decent scholarship for being in state. Now Have to decide if 50k of debt for OSU is worth it.

Is the Access Award something for being an international student? Also, how are you only $7k away from a full ride if you would be paying out-of-state tuition?yenisey wrote:Scholarship 14K, Access Award 7.5K, totaling 21.5K, now about 7K away from full ride.

I mean the amount equivalent to in-state full ride. Does OSU offer out-of-state full ride? Sounds like any amount more than in-state tuition will be shaved off to the in-state tuition grant.lawyer99 wrote:Is the Access Award something for being an international student? I went to OSU for undergrad. I love this place very much, but damn are they slow administratively.

Trust me, I'm close to it. Got a big package in the mail from the today, and I was so incredibly excited. Made sure it was from Moritz and not an alumni network, before I let myself take a sigh of relief.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:Go knock some heads in and speed it up for all of usStemal wrote:Yo, I was complete 1/7 -- still waiting.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:Any Mid-Jan applicants still waiting? Open it.
It's that stupid goddamn viewbook. Smh OSU.
They did move to #30 on the rankings, so I bet they're quite pleased with themselves over there.

According to my status checker, "Information about Moritz" was mailed to me 5 days ago following their mailing of the view book.

Anyone think we will actually hear about the Moritz scholarship today? They haven't exactly been firm on their deadlines.

I think that update may be in reference to the "diversity and inclusion" email that was sent around the same day. When the checker updated to show that my viewbook had been sent, it explicitly said "mailed," whereas the "information about moritz" has no such indication. I could be wrong, but I figured that the timing match up may have been indicative that the update meant the email.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
