I attempted to after getting scholarship information from a couple other schools. I heard back later that day that they had already increased my scholarship from my initial offer...I looked back through all my communication with them (email, snail mail) and had nothing previously notifying me of that. A little confusing but I was happy to get some more money! So, I really have no clue if my negotiation will work with them but I am hoping to try again after the first seat deposit.

Have you tried yet?

Sent in a nice email explaining my financial situation along with PDFs of other offers.. I got an email back two days later about scheduling a phone call with Ramsey (the dean of admissions) and that she "hopes they can make Georgia law work for me". I have the phone apt next week so we'll see how that goes!

they sent out an email asking everyone to check a box based on what their intentions are 1) attending 2) still deciding between schools 3) "I would like to withdraw my application" if i remember correctly they asked that you respond by the 1st of april

i withdrew based on a very strong scholarship offer from GA state, it was a hard decision but UGA didn't offer me any aid and while i think there is a good chance they might have given me something if i held out, it wouldn't have been much. I visited the school and wasn't as impressed as i thought id be, A lot of it had to do with my personal preference for atlanta over athens, and the fact that theres not a really significant difference between the two schools employment numbers. (although UGA does have slightly better numbers I'm not arguing that)

Update: spoke to Ramsey this morning and my scholly was upped to 15k a year! With a tuition of only about 4500 a year it looks like I'll be attending :)

Any waitlisters hear anything? When I had spoke to the admissions office earlier in the year, they had said most movement would be in April/May

I received an email yesterday asking if I was still interested in the waitlist! Hoping this means I still have a chance!

If any admitted guys are looking for a roommate next year, feel free to PM me. I'm looking at 2 and 3 bedroom homes/apartments right now. I'll be stopping through Athens early next week to check out a handful of them.

For those of you that were wait listed and have submitted a LOCI,

Did you ever receive confirmation from the admissions committee? I sent my LOCI last Monday and have yet to hear anything.

I never did either, I eventually had to call and make sure they received it.

I asked others on this forum, who had sent in a LOCI, the same question. Not everyone had received a confirmation for submitting their LOCI, although some did. Since I had sent mine in a month ago, I eventually emailed them this week to confirm and they responded by saying "Yes, it has been added to your folder".

Yea it was April 15. I was told that there is alot of movement right after the 1st deposit deadline passes, so I have my fingers crossed.
