I was under review for less than 1 week before acceptance.

is it possible they'll send out decisions before winter break or we'll just have to wait until after?

On a side note, I read somewhere that you must be accepted at the UF school of graduate admissions, even if you are applying to the Levin College of law. Does this ring a bell for anyone ITT? Just want to be sure I didn't leave anything out...

I've been on hold since 11/13. I went to UF undergrad and my LSAT isn't at their median, but my GPA is way above. From what I've gathered pretty much everyone gets put on hold.thriller1122 wrote:So after a miserable time of getting some bonus paper work I went under review on 13 Dec... what was y'alls (y'all's???) experience with how long it took between under review and a decision?

Yes, when they send you your notice of registration to the Law School they send you an email on how to apply to the graduate admissions. It's easy and takes short time. Pretty much, when you're accepted to the law school graduate admissions accepts you also. I can't see them agreeing to accept you and the admissions to the graduate school saying no.Harry_Pluxen wrote:On a side note, I read somewhere that you must be accepted at the UF school of graduate admissions, even if you are applying to the Levin College of law. At least one guy I know of got a higher scholly on negotiation, but that wasn't how he did it. He had a low GPA from a notoriously difficult/low curve school and was able to explain that and got a higher scholly.flgrad2014 wrote:If you go back a couple pages you can see how another person negotiated a scholarship increase. I do not believe I have received an e-mail with instructions on how to apply to graduate admissions. Yeah, you got me before I could finish my edit. That's also interesting, because I'm looking at the email that they sent me. I wonder if the new dean has axed that part of the application as redundant (because it is the EXACT same information)?

Before I was admitted, I received an e-mail about filling out a "supplemental form." But, that was sent to me from the law school.Sonar80 wrote:Harry_Pluxen wrote:I do not believe I have received an e-mail with instructions on how to apply to graduate admissions. No e-mails from them about applying to grad school admissions - not even in my original admitted e-mail or the ones that came after with scholarship terms and "how to enrol" info. I'll have to call them just to be sure. I'd rather not pay another application fee to graduate admissions though...

Thank you for your application for the fall 2016 entering class. Your Law School Report was requested automatically. To complete the application process, please go to http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/lawapp16 and fill out the residency affidavit and other required supplemental data, and pay the non-refundable $30 application fee. Please be advised that this is a time-sensitive part of your application, and your application will remain incomplete until this step is completed.
Completion of the application by the recommended deadline of March 15 is strongly advised in order to place applicants in the best possible position for admission and scholarship consideration. Applications completed after March 15 may not be guaranteed a timely decision and could affect an applicant’s potential for scholarships or grants. UF Law will continue to accept and review applications after March 15 through the final deadline of July 15, making offers on a space-available basis.
If you need to add required materials to your application, please submit them immediately. Required application materials such as your resume, academic admissions statement, and supporting documents related to the Character & Fitness section of the application should be emailed in PDF format, faxed, or mailed to:

OK, so I got that and filled out the form that was on the other end. It was mostly residency stuff, if I remember correctly. But I have not received a separate acceptance form the graduate admissions.Sonar80 wrote:This is the email I received, I received it almost immediately after hitting "send" on my app:Harry_Pluxen wrote:Before I was admitted, I received an e-mail about filling out a "supplemental form." Has anyone who has been admitted to the law school also received a separate admittance e-mail from the graduate admissions office/school?

Re: University of Florida Levin College of Law c/o 2019
My application has been on hold since 12/7... I submitted an additional statement shortly after and an updated resume (added a Duke law pre-law program I attended this summer as well as a e-board position that i secured with UF's phi alpha delta chapter for the spring semester). Anyone know anything about the hold status? How long it takes generally to hear back? Whether its generally a good/bad sign, etc.

Re: University of Florida Levin College of Law c/o 2019
Hi everyone. Hopefully, I can help answer some of the questions you've recently posted. By way of introduction, I am the newly-appointed Interim Asst. Dean for Admissions at UF Law. In addition to the information below, please feel welcome to email me directly at keener@law.ufl.edu for more information.
Q: Will you be sending out additional decisions before the holidays/how long are applicants kept on "Hold"?
A: Yes, we anticipate making a few additional offers early next week. The length of time applications remain on "Hold" varies considerably from applicant to applicant. I anticipate that we will begin making final decisions on some held applicants in early January.
Q: Is it true that you must also be admitted by UF's Graduate School in addition to the College of Law?
A: While this is technically correct, the practical impact in nil. The law school's decision is the one to which you should pay attention. That said, applicants admitted to the law school must follow the instructions sent to them with regard to formalizing their admission to the graduate school.
Thanks to each of your for your interest in the University of Florida. I look forward to working with you.
Best wishes,
Grant Keener
Interim Assistant Dean for Admissions

Besides that form, which I received shortly after applying to UF law, I have received neither formal request to apply nor an acceptance from the graduate admissions office.

Accepted with a 50% scholarship, but I've got a 100% at FSU. Think I can haggle for more? If I could even get 75% at UF I'd go there in a heartbeat.

I actually went to FSU for undergrad. Great school, but I'd rather go to UF because I live outside of Jacksonville and it could theoretically commute there. That's a good reason for UF as well. And I can see how Tallahassee would get old after a while. The fact that you would have a degree from both major Florida schools could also drastically expand your alumni networkingclarf wrote:I actually went to FSU for undergrad.
