Re: Waitlist Championships- class of 2018
I do think I've earned the title of Waitlist Queen this year. Here we go:
Waitlisted
Harvard
Columbia
UPenn
Duke
UVA
Michigan
Northwestern
University of Texas
UCLA- Admitted off WL last week +$
Rejected
Boalt Hall (my top choice)
NYU
Accepted with $
William & Mary
UC Davis
CU Boulder
Lewis & Clark
Haven't heard from Stanford and GULC. Riding waitlists for a while and if there's no luck, probably reapplying next year

Leaning towards Michigan (top choice right now), Harvard, and Duke. Will visit the first two next week, even thought they said that visiting doesn't help. I've been sending monthly LOCIs religiously to each school. I think that's what got me off the waitlist at UCLA.BillClinton Jr wrote:Any waitlists in particular that you are leaning towards?Lunaluna wrote:I do think I've earned the title of Waitlist Queen this year. What exactly did you include in your monthly LOCIs? Did you space out updates or program interests amongst the documents? Your method sounds really intriguing.

I talked about specific strengths of each school as related to my field. Then I gave them updates about what I'm doing at my current job, a language course I'm taking, and some other opportunities. I said that I could provide a LOR from any instructor they chose from my transcript or from any administrative staff they chose (dean, provost, etc). I retook the LSAT and talked about that. I was very honest about whether I would give up $ at other schools so I could attend their school (I would at HLS, Mich, and Duke). Those are the only letters where I said that I'd definitely attend if offered a place. What exactly did you include in your monthly LOCIs? Hope this helps! Let me know if you want me to share a LOCI with you via PM

Excuse the ignorance, but doesn't the LSAC service put grades on a 4.0 scale? How did you apply with >4.0 GPA?

Re: Waitlist Championships- class of 2018
Nope, their highest is 4.33, since they take A+ into account. My college didn't, so that's why I had a 4.0 UG GPA and a 4.14 LSDAS.oaktown wrote:Excuse the ignorance, but doesn't the LSAC service put grades on a 4.0 scale? How did you apply with >4.0 GPA?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
