Neither school has national reach. If you want to work in Arizona, then ASU. If you want to work in CA, then UCD.UMichUG2015 wrote:How do you guys think UCD compares to ASU? I have similar scholarship $ from both, and am having a really difficult time in deciding! I am from Nor Cal but don't really need to end up back there.

Same! In by email at 9pm.
Davis is absolutely one of my top options, maybe my #1. Looking forward to hearing about $$$.

Was waitlisted recently (via status checker, says letter en route, no email) but just removed my name, will be attending UC Hastings. Good luck everyone.

I decided not to go to Davis, so I hope my spot goes to a great waitlister! Good luck to you all.

Wow...add my name to the list of incredibly happy and surprised unsolicited late-in-the-game gift aid recipients! I have been (yes, I'll admit it) somewhat jealous reading these posts and debating asking for some monetary assistance of my own but then...BAM! There it was, just sitting there in my inbox. Without having to ask! Other schools had offered scholarships and knocked Davis off the radar a bit but as I'm still waiting on 7 schools, THIS has turned the slow week around and they have put themselves right back near the top of the running for me.
Now...what to do about ASW?!? YIKES.

I don't really get it, sure we went complete later in the cycle but it has been a long time. With deposit deadlines coming up it is getting very frustrating.Nickster1991 wrote:I went complete on 2/3/15 and have yet to hear back from Davis or Irvine.

Tell me about it. I have THREE ASW's that same weekend. Fortunately I think I can squeeze USC in on Friday, but I'm not sure what to do about Davis/Irvine on Sat. I've already toured UCI so I think I'm going to Davis since I've never been. Going to be a marathon!KGLaw18 wrote:Wow...add my name to the list of incredibly happy and surprised unsolicited late-in-the-game gift aid recipients! Also, the text message from the dean was definitely a nice touch. I even replied to him and he wrote back. Pretty cool.
Congrats!
I would say if you 100% for sure know you want to work in OC then UCI will probably be the best option as that's where their alumni are strongest. Davis would probably be a little harder but not impossible.
And that's cool he responded to your text. Seems like the administration is receptive and eager.

Almost certainly. Don't forget, UCI has only graduated three classes. Even with the classes that graduate between now and the time we graduate, their alumni network will be small. That said, I'm still leaning toward UCI if they can match Davis so I don't have to relocate.bababang wrote:I just got in yesterday too. Been sitting in 'Evaluation in Progess' for over the listed 4 weeks. Is this a bad sign? It's getting so late in the game...

I was at that stage for almost 9 weeks! You should be fine. My acceptance email said the first deposit deadline isn't until the 22nd, so you have some breathing room.BM_1993 wrote:Been sitting in 'Evaluation in Progess' for over the listed 4 weeks.
