For residency, it's pretty easy especially with your parents there, however, you absolutely must do all the paperwork on time. FSU actually sends a packet with that stuff out in your acceptance letter.
You need to arrive early, before classes start, and get all your ducks in a row with regard to the official paperwork. Go the DMV your first day here, etc. As long as you have one full year on the books before classes start for 2L, you will be okay.

I was admitted on 1/14, but haven't received any info about scholarships. Did it take more than a couple of weeks to hear re: scholarships for y'all?

I was admitted with a letter dated 11/20 (took a week to arrive) and received my scholarship offer letter on 12/17.

Unless that 160+ is a 168+ it's not YP. Plenty of people in the 165-169 range got admitted directly after initial review. You submitted in January, 3 months after the application opened and plenty of people have been admitted. They're backed up on applications and have fewer offers available; aka it's going to take more time to reach a decision than if you applied the day the application opened.Hispaniclaw wrote:Similar scenario here.nosocat wrote:Interesting ... Does it* going straight to CR mean anything? YP, perhaps?

Not sure how credible that is...I applied the DAY the application opened and I am STILL under comparative review since November...mpk11d wrote:Unless that 160+ is a 168+ it's not YP. Yeah, I don't think so either. I applied 1/21, went complete 1/23 (which I think is also when I went to initial review), then comparative 1/28 and decision letter sent 1/30. I haven't yet received the decision letter, but it's definitely not necessarily true that January apps are going to take longer.legallyrose wrote:Not sure how credible that is...I applied the DAY the application opened and I am STILL under comparative review since November...mpk11d wrote:Unless that 160+ is a 168+ it's not YP. I'm not sure how my app going straight to Comparative Review suggests that they're backed up.mpk11d wrote:Unless that 160+ is a 168+ it's not YP. Comparative review status last week, decision rendered today. Good luck everyone! I think it's starting to be crunch time for the admissions board.

If anyone with a decision around mid-January receives scholarship info in the mail, could you post here and let us know you received it?
I feel like scholly info should be coming out any day now. Still confused why UF, and a lot of schools for that matter, don't utilize emailing info to students. So much easier.

I just got Final Decision Reached today, but I have not received the letter or anything confirming I am in. I did just get an email from the Dean reminding me to fill out the FAFSA that says "I hope you are well. I am writing to remind you that UF Law admitted students may be considered for need-based grants." And then it closes with "We hope to meet you in the near future and look forward to the possibility of your joining us this fall!" My question is DOES THIS MEAN I AM IN????!!!...Or did all prospective students get this email?

got the same email and I am already admitted. I would take that as a very very good sign that you are admitted.

This happened to me too, except I have been waiting on my mailed letter since Friday. I'm taking it as a quasi-acceptance, so quasi-congratulations to you!spiderhands wrote:I just got Final Decision Reached today, but I have not received the letter or anything confirming I am in.
