Seems to be different for different people. I was complete for nealy 1.5 months before it changed to 1st read. It's been at 1st read for a week.

tbh, I have no clue. But I would guess not if they haven't even looked at your app yet (aside from maybe your numbers).

Applied 10/31, Complete on 11/2. My status never went to committee read and went straight to Final Review on the morning of 12/18, and got the acceptance email that afternoon. I received a paper copy of the email in the mail about two days later. Yesterday (1/12) I received a phone call and email from an admissions ambassador offering to answer questions, but still no scholarship information. Checking in because USC is pretty high on my list and I love California! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Still on UR2, but status date went from 1/8 to 1/13. Don't know if that's significant or not. Hoping for a decision soon.

Apparently they want you to apply for the Rothman even if you aren't in yet.

I get those emails too--it's starting to make me mad. Admit me and I will happily apply for the scholarship.

Do you think it's a YP device?

Is this really all we have to go off of for "criteria" for the Rothman essay?:

Criteria include strong undergraduate record, LSAT score, and additional accomplishments, such as publishing books and articles, running a business, inventing useful devices, and other similar, highly significant achievements.

lol !! i saw that and basically read it as
"Criteria include a 4.1, 175+, and curing cancer while raising a family and running a business, the profits of which went into investment that funded both your family and a useful device that you have invented. If not, don't even bother."

I've actually published an article nationally, but there are so many qualified individual applicants that are going to apply for Rothman, that i'm like heck with this

Was excited to apply for the Rothman (though they haven't finished with my application), but then I saw it was only for one person. lol, no way I get that. I'm not even above the GPA 75th, and I haven't invented a damn thing.

Do you think it would help with merit scholarship considerations if I do a good job applying for the Rothman scholarship anyways? If I can still get some money from them by showing a strong interest I don't mind.

I'll give myself a week or so to convince myself I'm qualified for the scholarship.
