I don't think they start releasing RD until January after they've finished with ED decisions!

Re: Columbia c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Got an email yesterday from Jeb Butler, Director of Admissions. He wanted more information about an item on my resume (hopefully that's good??).
I am RD, submitted 10/10. So they are well into reviewing RD applicants, at least.

interesting - sounds like a good thing - if you feel comfortable, can you elaborate on/PM what the item was?sneezus wrote:Got an email yesterday from Jeb Butler, Director of Admissions. He wanted more information about an item on my resume (hopefully that's good??).

Wow, that's pretty specific. I've never heard of that happening before (clarification on resume item and not for transcript or C&F issue)sneezus wrote:Got an email yesterday from Jeb Butler, Director of Admissions. He wanted more information about an item on my resume (hopefully that's good??).

if you hide things in the spreadsheets, it doesn't just hide them for you, it hides them for everybody, and then it messes up the data. PLEASE DON'T HIDE COLUMNS IN THE SPREADSHEETS
(don't mind me just spamming this everywhere bc it's messing up literally every single spreadsheet right now)

Has anyone who has been invited to interview (ED candidates) received a decision yet?

purely speculative question, but does anyone have a guess as to when more ED decisions will come out?

Judging from last year's thread, it looks like ED decisions were still coming out through the very end of December...we might have a long wait ahead of us. But we shall persevere!!!

Re: Columbia c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
So in response to those wondering about ED decisions, it seems like this cycle is fairly unprecedented. It looks like we have four acceptances so far, two in late November, two in the first couple days of December. In the past, judging from LSN, it looks like they usually do a wave of acceptances sometime around late November/the first week of December, and then another round in mid to late December.
It's possible that there was in fact a normal ED wave and that it just hasn't shown up here or on LSN, but I kind of doubt it. It appears that interviews have thrown a wrench in the normal goings on, but I can't say that for sure. Show of hands out there, but who has interviewed and NOT heard back? I'm certainly in that boat, which is making me start to sweat it a little bit, though I'm not sure it's necessarily time to start worrying.
I think it's overwhelmingly likely that we'll see a wave of ED responses in the next seven calendar days since Columbia goes on break on like the 18th or something, though I don't know if I should be banking on hearing something tomorrow (I've been banking on hearing something each of the last nine weekdays and it's driving me insane, so there's probably an obvious answer to that question).
Moral of the story: I'm an ED applicant desperately waiting in limbo and in need of some speculative venting.

On the spreadsheet, it looks like all four ED applicants with any realistic shot of getting in have gotten in (other ED applicants -- there are a couple -- have LSAT scores of lower than 165).
I have over 75% LSAT, around 25% GPA, and starting to worry I will be deferred (not many deferred applicants subsequently get in, I think). Didn't get an interview invitation.
Any EDers out there with competitive numbers who haven't heard back? Just want to know I'm not alone in this boat

Eh don't despair just yet. I'm in the same boat. Definitely not a good sign to not be in by now, but they'll accept more than 4 ED applicants and they do usually draw the process out into December.sinpo wrote:mmarion44 wrote:So in response to those wondering about ED decisions, it seems like this cycle is fairly unprecedented. Re: Columbia c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Is anyone else seeing the awful trolling on their "MyColumbiaLaw" accounts?
There is now a tab on my account for "asd" --admitted students' day anyone?
and it leads only to a stock picture of a butte. It's almost the same picture as the first google result when you use the search term "butte."
Why, Columbia? Why do you think that is funny?
Edited for typo**
