I emailed admissions about them opening up more Skype slots and they said they added some more dates today and will be adding more in the future.

63.3 vs 69 for 100+ firms and fed clerkships isnt that much. Especially with all the self selection. Penn grads go to NYC which is an easier market than Chicago. Add the 13.7 in business with median salary 120k and the difference is pretty negligible. At the same class rank I doubt a Penn grad has any advantage over NU. Firms don't change their yearly hiring to reflect this years USNWR ranking they follow historic patterns HYS, CCN, the rest of the T14.

Between the lower t14 it comes down to location for me. so its Definately NU > MVBDCG. But Penn is in a decent city.

Between Penn and NU, id weigh the pros and cons of having 2 major markets and better city vs superficial ranking and ivy name

i mean I'm not going to argue with you since that's not what this board is for. but bringing up rankings and prestige is a hell of a straw man. wanting chi is a decent reason for NU tho.

^thats basically what my point is, within the lower t14 (MVPBDCNG) the rankings are a wash and other factors should decide your decision like location and scholly. If all else is completely equal take the highest ranked but to pay more for UVA over Duke would be stupid imo. You can justify paying more for CCN over MVPBDCNG but within MVPBDNCG not really.

No offence, but your gonna feel pretty stupid after. I doubt it plays any role other than a screener for weirdos. It won't make up for uncompetitive numbers. Its just a 30 min convo about yourself in very informal way.

I think the Northwestern interview is much more structured than the others (or at least it could be depending on who you interview with), seeing as they even have a Handbook.

But yes, a Skype interview would most definitely suffice.

There's an interview handbook? Cray. Where'd you find this?

I drove six hours and spent the weekend in Chi before an on-campus interview. Saw a bunch of friends I hadn't seen in months/years, enjoyed some nightlife, and took a campus tour. Had a blast. Solidified NW as my top choice. At no point did I feel stupid for not doing a Skype interview.

Louie has numbers that aren't even close to competitive for NU, though. No offense, Louie, but you're wasting the cost of the ticket.

Just finished my interview. Here are some questions if you'd like to know

1) Tell me about yourself
2) Tell me about your XXX (one of my internships)
3) Tell me about your XXX (another of my internships)
4) Tell me about one situation in which you worked as a leader
5) Tell me about your leadership style
6) Why law?
7) Why law in the U.S.? (I'm an int'l applicant, I knew this would come)
8) Why Northwestern?

25 minutes, pretty laid back.

Had the same questions, in almost the same order, minus the international questions.

Is there a place to submit a GPA addendum for Northwestern? It looks like you can add a second file under the personal statement section or I guess I could kind of include the pertinent info as part of my "Why NU" optional essay (although I really think that would seem distracting as it's structured right now.) Anyone else encounter this?

Yea, I encountered this problem too. I ultimately just submitted the application without the GPA addendum I had sent to some other schools and wrote a short Why NU essay instead. I figure they are pretty lenient for splitters anyway so maybe they just don't want the GPA addendum. However, I could be totally wrong about that.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
