I hope so!! It would feel so great to get them in that early. But I'll be traveling out of the country at the time so might wait to submit until I return.Winston1984 wrote:Anyone going to have their apps for UChi and Cornell ready for Aug 15th?

Don't thank me, thank middlebear! I just found Georgetown and a solid Harvard date.downbeat14 wrote:Thank you for compiling xylocarp!xylocarp wrote:Updated T-14 application opening dates in the OP. So. 40 days until the first apps start opening.
I am going to be doing the T-50 after all, minus whatever schools don't have it on their websites. Expect that sometime tonight!

I'm hoping to at least get Chi in on that day. I have a trip to Chicago on the 18th, so I'd love to visit having already applied.Winston1984 wrote:Anyone going to have their apps for UChi and Cornell ready for Aug 15th?
To do that I'll need to think of a PS topic though...

That's the plan! PS and DS are being reviewed by multiple professors. LOR's should be done within the next week as well. Really excited about my PS. Took me awhile, but finally have a product that I really think shows off who I am and my writing abilities.Winston1984 wrote:Anyone going to have their apps for UChi and Cornell ready for Aug 15th?

I'm not sure what to do either. I was going to apply to some schools where I'm at median with my current score right when their app opens up. When do school start admitting. I don't want to get admitted and get a small scholarship/no money before my score comes if I end up improving a bunch and it could have gotten me more $$$.dasani13 wrote:For the people retaking in September:

I'm not. I'll be waiting for my October score. It's worth to mention I will be applying ED to one of the schools so I want that high score before I apply.dasani13 wrote:For the people retaking in September:

I tried that a few months ago, then read an article about PS mistakes and found that I'd committed like half of themsmccgrey wrote:Lol the PS struggle is so real. Have you tried just forcing it? I'm going to try that, maybe. I think my main problem is that I don't believe that I have any good ideas, so I haven't started writing anything.
And good luck to everyone in the dark abyss of PS writer's block!

I might try again this weekend. Ugh

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I actually asked a similar question at the DC forum event to all the adcomms from the T14 (before I knew what my June score was in case it was way lower than normal). The consensus is wait until the higher score (all the T14 suggested this except Berkeley person for some reason). The way they put it was this:Learn_Live_Hope wrote:I'm not. I'll be waiting for my October score. It's worth to mention I will be applying ED to one of the schools so I want that high score before I apply.dasani13 wrote:For the people retaking in September:

The vast majority of adcomms will be traveling to recruiting events, etc. at first anyways. Many/most of them won't even start reading the first batch until around Thanksgiving. It's highly unlikely that your admission will be affected by waiting a month or so to apply.
On that note, everyone seems to be predicting another down-cycle, so even more of a reason to wait IMO if you KNOW you can do better. But yeah, it's a slight gamble due to rolling admissions. The other way you can assess the risk is check the school's release dates from last year. For example, if school X released the majority of their offers of admissions on January 1 (and like 4 before that) you can pretty much be certain that the timing of September will not matter. December would obviously be a different story in this light.

Same here. First actually exciting waiver I've gotten. The others so far: Case Western, Seton Hall, Ave Maria (nice try), Indiana Tech (hip hop law, anybody?), and UW.

I guess I'm not good enough for a Gtown fee waiver. I did get Indiana Tech today, so that totally makes up for it.everything_bagel wrote:Just got a Gtown "invitation to apply" and fee waiver! You should all check your inboxes!
