Re: University of Illinois UIUC c/o '17 Applicants (13-14 cycle)
Anybody else get that email about the 10% jump in employment outcomes? I never actually looked at the data but it looks like Illinois would have a 72% LST score if I'm reading the data correctly.
This is definitely some great news.
Edit: Actually I just realized where the large increase came from, looks like they doubled the amount employed by the school. Still though the employment numbers are 58% in (2012) vs 64% (2013) if you leave out those with school funded jobs. So there is still an increase.

Does Illinois have a usual day of the week / time of day for admissions emails?

They just bumped me from 23k per year to 40k per year. Guys, I might be sold on this school!

if anyone's interested, I was initially given a full ride and was rather curtly denied an increase when I tried to negotiate up to get a stipend/living allowance/etc. I am still interested in UIUC, but chances look slimmer now...

Re: University of Illinois UIUC c/o '17 Applicants (13-14 cycle)
I sent them my offers from Indiana (75k total) and Notre Dame (36k). I thought they might bump it up to 80 or even 90; I never really imagined they would offer 120k. 6 thousand dollars per year to go to a school that would put me directly in my dream market of Chicago? Unless I get a very similar offer from WUSTL, I can't imagine anything else competing.bigfeature wrote:congrats! 40k isn't bad for UIUC. did you ask for more or was it unsolicited?isuperserial wrote:They just bumped me from 23k per year to 40k per year. I was going to do it but how exactly are we going to invite our classmates to join (assuming they all don't use TLS and won't see this message). The Dark Kite wrote:Wait so.. about that c/o 2017 facebook page. We doin that, or..

Last year one of our classmates started it on here, invited the members on the site and then informed Dean V who passed it along in the emails to the admitted students.RLowry23 wrote:I was going to do it but how exactly are we going to invite our classmates to join (assuming they all don't use TLS and won't see this message). The Dark Kite wrote:Wait so.. about that c/o 2017 facebook page. I mean I wouldn't mind an exclusive TLS facebook group for UIUC, there is one for WUSTL and it is a lot more lax/fun. The official admitted students groups are so prim and proper

Well at the moment its new and there are no admins or serious types. Has the potential to be a rowdy good time. <-- Not true, apparently there is one among us.ellewoods179 wrote:I mean I wouldn't mind an exclusive TLS facebook group for UIUC, there is one for WUSTL and it is a lot more lax/fun. Hahaha, I can kick her out if that would make everyone feel better... I had gotten a few other messages about it.
edit: aka, I did remove her when I went to see the options for removing someone and then clicked it.
Looks like I am starting out good.

Hey all, hope everything is going well.
Since there's an ASW this Friday, I figured I'd post this for anyone that has questions:

Or you can just post those Qs here, but I might be the only one answering them.
